<p>Transfer spots for very selective schools like D are based on the number of students that leave, which is generally relatively small. They don’t have control over that, and it seems extremely reasonable, nice even, for them to inform students that they won’t have spots so that they don’t waste their time applying. Much better IMO than the year that H decided they weren’t accepting any transfers (due supposedly to a shortage of housing) AFTER the transfer admissions had opened. They refunded application fees, but not the cost of sending transcripts & test scores, not to mention the time spent on applying.</p>
<p>I personally don’t see anything arrogant about the D transfer website, and I’m not a particularly big fan of D in general.</p>
