Duke's international rep...

Several European students that I met at the London School of Economics were impressed when I told them I go to Duke. One German guy said the school is "very famous" in Europe.

From Today's Chronicle (Duke "Going Global"):

Going global - News

duke is a great school, no doubt, but I don't think it has as long of a history of excellence as say the Ivy League, MIT, Stanford etc....hence it probably isn't nearly as well known as the aforementioned schools. That being said, Duke is still a great place to study, and will be respected by a lot of people, both domestically and internationally.

haha, ok CORNELL2011... but yea, of course duke doesn't have the "history of excellence" since it is much newer...

Duke Definitely ranks among the very highest levels in academia. No doubt about it. Its international presence should be on par with HYPSM.

Duke doesn't have international full time campuses do they though? I know most major research powerhouses....like Johns Hopkins to name a few have outsides campuses in Nanjing, China, Bologna, Italy, Singapore, and Washington D.C. Haha, sucks for you guys.

@Phead128.

Duke will have a medical school in Singapore starting next year.

Thats pretty impressive...How many US Applicants do you think are going to apply? Its kinda far away...
