I find playing Call of Duty 4 really dulls the anxiety. What do guys do to keep calm during this stressful time?

TV, Homework, Reading, Talking with friends (and not allowing them or myself to even mention Penn)… cleaning… ummm… I don’t know, just trying to go on as usual. Though, I must admit, I haven’t really been able to not think about Penn for even a waking minute in the past few days. Even when I’m having a conversation about something else or sitting in school or doing whatever, the thought of Friday and Penn and what Friday could mean is continually lingering in my mind.

Yesterday, I have to admit, I started to get REALLY nervous, but for some reason today, I feel a lot better. I think that the fact that stressing about whether or not we will get into our first choice school–an ivy league school-- is the biggest “problem” or stressor many of us are facing right now, speaks a lot about how lucky we are and about how good we have it overall. There are so many bright people who for whatever reason can’t go to college, and so many people who aren’t as motivated as we are to be applying to Penn. There are so many people with issues far greater than getting into college–like simply finding food or shelter or happiness-- that I would feel ridiculous stressing too much over Penn. I think if we try to put things in perspective most of us will realize that our lives are actually pretty fantastic and that whether or not we get into Penn, we’ll still continue to be very fortunate.

(…I could go on and on, but I think I’ll continue my little personal pep talk in private.
ha)

science fair - making fractals lol

physics/stat test =/

200/300 level courses at a university which have finals this week/next week…sure helps!

Reading helps a lot.

breakdancing relieves sooo much stress

Talking to friends. Some just got into Dmouth others have been waitlisted.

Hopeful_Underdog, I’m totally with you. Pretty much the only way I can distract myself is by doing homework/tasks that require all of my attention. I was able to keep myself from thinking of the decision until people started hearing back (with Dartmouth yesterday) and now it’s pretty much all I think about.

Same here! My sister got good news from Dartmouth yesterday and her anticipation totally sparked a whole load of nervousness in me!
