Dumb PSAT question

Bear with me.

Juniors take the PSAT in October of their junior year. But then seniors qualify for NM semi-finalist. Is that based on their junior scores or do kids have to re-take the PSAT as seniors in order to compete in NM?

no, it's based on the PSAT taken in October of the junior year. After the junior year, no more PSAT :)

It's based on your junior PSAT scores.

And there are no stupid questions. I learn something on here every day!

OK -- got it! Thanks all.

Yes. It's a very long drawn-out process between the Junior year tests and finally being selected semi and then Finalist. Blech.

Seniors don't have to take the PSATs again, but if they haven't taken the SAT for some reason that's a requirement for the National Merit Scholarship. Your scores don't have to be as high as your PSATs, but they do have to be in the same range.
