Okay so this is kinda a dumb question but.. do i go to a university for 4 years and THEN go to a special school (i.e medical, dental, business ect...) or do i just go to a specialty school for a bunch of years? :-/ thanks

Four years of undergrad first.

If you wanna get any sort of higher degree (beyond Associates or Bachelor’s), then you have to have an Associates or Bachelor’s degree, which can be completed at any 4-year institution.

*Associates Degree = 2-year college (often the community type) (if students want to get their Bachelor’s, then they transfer the credits to a 4-year institution after graduation and complete their degree there)
*Bachelor’s Degree (Arts or Sciences) = 4- year college (Most private and public institutions)
*Masters Degree (many fields of study) = often a higher level school within a university. time depends on the field.
*Doctorate Degree (includes things like Ph.D., medicine, dentist, etc. If it gives you the title of a Doctor, then it’s a doctorate degree) = again, time depends on the field. With medicine and dentistry, minimum time is 4 years, sometimes more if you want to specialize

Don’t know what a Law Degree falls under, it’s a whole different process.
