So, this is kind've a dumb question, but I haven't had the chance (money) to visit Cornell yet, so I don't know the answer. I know there is a lake on campus, right around where the Freshman dorms are, and I know there are gorges somewhere on campus, but can/do people swim in them? I've heard of gorge jumping at orientation, but is this the only time people make use of them? Is there some policy against swimming in the gorges/lake?

I don’t think you’re allowed to swim in them, but students do anyways. I used to do so late summer, but I could never do that whole jumping thing. It’s really high!

So can we do gorge jumping!!!

Yep. Just don’t let the police catch you. Behind the observatory works. But Six Mile Creek is the best.

Wow, that’s pretty awesome. Why does Cornell have to make me wait for one whole year:(

JK..with my stats, I’m lucky that Cornell gave me a GT

How clean is the water?

…not very

yeah…the water can be gross. I personally would never swim in Bebe Lake (and I don’t think you’re allowed to anyway).

Lots of people swim in the gorges during the summer…it’s a popular place to go.
