Hey, has anyone heard back from Duquesne University yet? I applied in July for business and have yet to hear back. Just wondering if anyone could give me some information. They told me Oct 1 then Oct 31 and it is Nov 5. Just want to make sure I didn’t mess anything up. Thank you.
My d applied in August for the business school and she still hasn’t received a response.
My D received her acceptance and merit aid today. Good luck!
My S received his acceptance letter and merit offer last week. This is his first choice and my wife and I are alumni. Sadly DU is pricing themselves out of reach for middle class. Their tuition has risen 18 percent in last 3 years and who knows how high it will go in the next four years. There are plenty of other choices out there. My S is disappointed but I will not let him sink in debt for my old school. Shame on Duquesne. Good luck.
My daughter applied in August and heard back in mid November. She is very excited sine DU one of her top two schools. She also received a generous merit scholarship of 18k.
I just got my acceptance letter in the mail a few days ago! I was also pleasantly surprised to be offered a generous merit package of about 23K a year (19k for tuition and 4k for room & board).
May I ask what program you are going into and if the merit is all academic?
I got into the Palumbo Donahue school of business and yes, the merit is strictly academic.
@ponte_bella011599 Do you mind me asking your SAT/ACT scores and weighted/unweighted GPA?
Just received acceptance letter yesterday. Accepted in McAnulty School of Arts and Sciences, majoring in political science
GPA:3.6 UW, 4.2 W
SAT: 1420 (New SAT)
Received 17,000 in merit aid, 4,000 in room and board aid
Still waiting on need based aid and honors college
Was very happy with the amount of aid received
@jolealea I scored a 1270 on my sat and a gpa of about 3.82 unweighted. My class rank was 13 or 15 out of 309 and I have taken enough dual enrolled credits to skip about a year of college. I go to a competitive magnet school and I have a good amount of extra curriculars.
Hi i’m currently a senior in high school. I will be starting college in the summer of 2017. I have received acceptance into several direct entry/accelerated PA programs (where you have your graduate seat in the program is reserved for you after completing undergraduate). Right now i’m stuck between Duquesne Universtiy’s program, and Wagner College’s program. Duquesne’s program has a better reputation and ranking than Wagner’s, however Wagner’s program would be more convenient for me, in the sense that it is close to home so I will be able to do my clinical rotations and build connections with hospitals where I may want to work at someday. Do you think it is better to go to a University whose program has a better reputation or one that will give you the opportunity to do rotations in the hospitals/clinics you want to work at?
Thank you.
