We are considering Duquesne's business school for our son. On one hand, the 2010 edition of The Princeton Review's "Best 371 Colleges" lists Duquesne as a "Great School for Accounting Majors"; however, Duquesne does not appear on the 2010 edition of the "Fiske Guide to Colleges" or in Business Week's 2009 "Top Undergraduate Business Programs". Does anyone have any useful, positive ranking information for Duquesne which would help us to continue considering this college ??? Please consider this as a serious question from a very concerned parent. Thank You.

Its highly regarded in Pittsburgh and some of the top students from our school choose it every year. I think that part of the school’s appeal is that it has a strong alumni network in the Pittsburgh area who support the school. Some of my kids’ friends have gone there and report being happy with it, and it’s in my D’s final 3 choices for its nursing program. We’re going to be doing some admitted student visits to see which school might be the best fit.

I recall that the open house in the Fall had a great presentation with a powerpoint about its rankings, but I didn’t pay as much attention as I probably should have. You may be able to get more information about current rankings directly from the school.

NEONZEUS, thanks for your comments. I also note that Duquesne is listed as #128 in the most recent U.S. News & World Report college rankings. It is just impossible to find out if Business Week or Fiske truly do not think highly of this school or if somehow Duquense did not even participate in the survey process…Good Luck narrowing down your list and hope everything works out perfectly with your D’s ultimate choice…
