Any info would be appreciated. Thank you. Academics, Admissions, Campus and surrounding area... Thanks

We visited Duquesne in summer 2002 and fall 2002. DS applied to, auditioned at, and was accepted there (for music performance). We have some friends there...here is my opinion. Duquesne is located within a very short walk to downtown Pittsburgh which is one terrific city. It is a very accessible city with all that anyone would want in the arts, sports, shopping, restaurants, hotels, etc. And the cost of living there is very inexpensive compared to here in the northeast. Duquesne is a small Catholic college. It is very self contained, and secure. The school was well maintained, and nice, especially for an urban school. Everyone we met there on both trips was friendly and nice. It is not a highly competitive school, but has good course and major selections. DS got their presidential scholarship ($6000 per year) plus a very very generous music award that would have made his cost of attendance very modest. His combined SAT CR/Math was 1320. He had so so HS grades and was in the top 25% of his class. He is, however, an outstanding musician. You can PM me with any specific questions. We would have been happy if DS had chosen Duquesne as a college. Pittsburgh has a lot to offer...and the airport is also quite nice and offers inexpensive and frequent flights to almost everywhere!!
