DUS Transfer to Engineering

My son just got an email saying that the College of Engineering was full but has received the option of getting into Undicided - Department of Undecided Studies at UP. How hard is to transfer later to Engineering and is this option better than the 2+2???

As long as he meets the entrance to major requirements (GPA, required courses …) in his 2nd year he should have no trouble declaring his engineering major. He would have to meet the same requirements even if he had been accepted directly into engineering. He can just follow the recommended course schedule for his intended major. The beauty of DUS is he can switch in to virtually any major as long has he has done the preparation.
