<p>I live in Minnesota so we have sick hockey things that happen around here all the time but this was just unbelievable (If you are unaware Minnesota hockey would compare to Texas football). So today there is this NHL 3 on 3 game happening at a rink nearby with a bunch of Minnesota NHL guys. There's maybe 200 people outside while the players filter in and sign autographs, and suddenly here comes Dusitn Byfuglien in a ****in Maserati with some smokin hot chick in the passenger seat. Parks, comes out and signs autographs and takes pictures with everyone for like 45 minutes (btw he's dressed like some NFL wide reciever, all red mlb hat with a red tall tee and shades), nicest guy ever. Then he goes in to get ready and when he comes to the rink to play, he's got one eye completely bloodshot with a huge shiner! Craziest thing ever. Plays the whole game and scores like 3 or 4 goals. So anyways I had to share this with all the hockey fans out there cause this was maybe the sickest thing I've ever seen.</p>

<p>Dustin is a true BAMF. Too bad the Hawks had to trade him because of their cap situation. </p>

<p>I was hoping that the Hawks would be able to be a regular challenger to the Wings in the Central Division for a few years (I’m a Ducks fan and I DESPISE the Wings).</p>

<p>Yea I like the Wild but they’re going nowhere. Come playoff time I just like to see good hockey and I watch throughout the season too.</p>
<p>That’s how I feel about my Ducks for this year. Our D will be pretty bad this year, but we have a ton of great defensive prospects (Cam Fowler, Luca Sbisa, Jake Gardnier, a few others). I’m a little worried about the Bobby Ryan situation though.</p>
<p>I’ll be rooting for the Yotes, Canes, Bruins, Preds, and Hawks come playoff time</p>
<p>I watch nearly all of the Ducks games after college football season ends, and I watch the games on Versus during the week. I’ll try to watch some games on TSN online when I’m doing my homework, but it sucks because I don’t get any hockey coverage here in Orange County.</p>

<p>I’m predicting the Leafs are a playoff bubble team with their amazing defence (Kaberle, Phaneuf, Beauchemin, Komisarek, Gunnarsson, Schenn, Lebda, and kinda Jeff Finger), finally solid goaltending (Giguere and Gustavsson), and some chemistry on the first line (Kulemin-BOZAK-Kessel) + Versteeg and Colby Armstrong</p>

<p>Everytime I read a story on TSN.com (Canadian ESPN) during the summer, the comments would be full of how the Leafs should trade Bobby for Kaberle. After a while, I wanted to punch a Leafs fan in the face :). But the trade was never going to happen. Bobby is a 2 time 35 goal scorer and he’s only played 1.5 NHL seasons. He has the talent to put up 45+ goals and hasn’t hit his prime. Meahwhile, Kaberle is an aging, soft defenseman. He only has 1 year remaining on his contract and has stated that he will only want to play in the east. </p>
<p>Why would the Ducks trade their most promising offensive player for a 1 year defensive rental???</p>
<p>I think the Leafs will finish around 11th in the east. I don’t see them putting up a lot of goals this year. Man, I wish Beauchemin was back in Anaheim. His fight against Iggy back in 2006 helped turn that series around and spark our playoff run that year. Giggy will always be a fan favorite in Anaheim.</p>
<p>Yeah, I love Burke, but I will never forgive him for signing Bertuzzi in 07. Because of that signing, we had to trade away Andy McDonald for Doug Weight after Selanne un retired.</p>
<p>haha yeah, I never thought that made sense unless Ryan actually didn’t want to stay in Anaheim, although Kaberle and Visnovsky on the powerplay would be potent.</p>
<p>Burke makes some crazy moves - idk how trading every draft pick ever for Kessel or Stalberg and Dido for Versteeg will work out, but getting Phaneuf and Giggy was like magic (I even made a thread about it :b )</p>
<p>I have to agree on Bertuzzi - I honestly don’t think he’s that good, esp. considering Getzlaf and Perry are both more talented and physical than him, and McDonald is an incredibly creative player. Detroit has nobody who can fight, so they need him, but I don’t think Anaheim did.</p>
<p>I have to say, Anaheim probably won’t make the playoffs this year. Their division is tough - with Phoenix, LA, and San Jos</p>

<p>I used to like the Leafs too, but honestly I’m about ready to give up on them. Rooting for Edmonton causes enough pain - I don’t really need to suffer with Toronto as well.</p>
<p>Byfuglien’s name is so differently pronounced than his name looks, that also makes him baller. That guy is awesome. I just love hockey. I might go to the all-star game this year, I live pretty close.</p>

As a Bruins fan (B’s and Canes are my eastern conference teams) I thank you for Tyler Seguin. hehe . IDK what Calgary’s GM was thinking when he taded Phaneuf for basically nothing. Giggy was a salary dump. We have Hiller and needed to clear cap space (Giggy makes I think 6.5 mil/yr) for Bobby. </p>
<p>Bertuzzi signing was an insurance option in case Teemu didn’t come back. </p>
<p>It sucks that Kariya’s career might be over. I really liked him when he played for the Mighty Ducks, but a lot of Ducks fans hate him because of the way he betratyed the organization. Personally, I didn’t want the Ducks to sign him because we already have enough top 6 forwards (Getzy, Perry, Ryan, Blake, Teemu, Koivu, Sexton, Beleskey). He doesn’t play defense and is injury prone. </p>
