DVHS San Ramon CA Senior boy

ACT 34, Unweighted GPA 3.6, weighted 4.05 - one ‘C’ mostly 'B’s and few 'A’s - had a vigorous curriculum Good references from teachers and active leader in CS club at school. Working on essays right now.

What are my chances of getting into undergrad computer science - UW Seattle, UT Austin, UI Urbana Champagne, U Mich. Too much to ask for? Appreciate any feedback.

It would be a good idea to edit your post-too much information about your school and yourself.

UIUC is a low match. EECS is highly rated and extremely competitive, but I can see you getting in.

The others are reaches, just because of the UW GPA.

Add UM-Twin Cities and Purdue to your list as well.

Thank you! Regarding UW GPA, would admissions officers consider the rigor of 10 plus AP courses? I do feel being a nut case, now seeing classmates with not many AP’s and a better GPA than mine. But frankly the unweighted courses and the teachers teaching them were not very inspiring in the first place.

If a college does holistic admissions, then class rigor would be taken into account. Perhaps take a couple of SAT subject tests (Math 2 and a hard science) to bolster the app.

Also it might be easier for you to apply for CS in Arts and Sciences, especially for the midwestern publics.

I see no UCs on your list. Are you thinking about any? UCSB could be a high match/low reach for you.
