Dykstra Hall info

So I along with other people I knew were confused about the Dykstra Hall business so in case you were wondering I thought it'd be nice to post this for reference:

what it says on the housing offer:
Dykstra Hall was scheduled to be closed from the beginning of the 2011-2012 Academic Year. Due to the increased size of the incoming class, Dykstra Hall will be open for a portion of the academic year until the Gardenia and Holly buildings in De Neve Plaza are available. Residents will be transferred to the same room type in the two new buildings. There will be no increase in cost for this transfer for students who are moved from Dykstra Hall to the Gardenia and Holly buildings and they will be the first people to enjoy living in the newest residential facilities.

after calling the housing office to clarify:
-will probably move in to the new dorms at the end of the fall quarter
-new dorms will be high rises (halls)

That’s weird that those are halls since all of the other De Neve buildings are plazas and it follows the alphabetical order with Fir as the last one.

how many freshman do you think will be living in dykstra hall?

It will be literally all Freshman (except maybe a fee returning students who didn’t apply on time and so they had to enter the lotto). They didn’t let returning students sign up for Dykstra because they had planned on it being closed.
