E Coli. Outbreak

I know this isn't very college related but this is VERY important.

Recently, the bacteria known as E Coli. has been found in certain types of bagged spinach (not the stuff you can get in a can). 8 states are reporting widespread illness from the spinach. The E Coli. bacteria can cause liver failure and then DEATH. Doctors say there is NO CURE WHAT SO EVER. I don't mean to scare you guys but I thought this would be a very important issue to raise so you don't get sick or even die. Especially since I'd like to meet all of you this fall.

Lol.

I know this is serious and everything, and I thank you very much.

But lol.

/Only because this crap is eeeeeevvveeeerrrywhere. The last place I expected to see another OHNOESEVILSPINACH warning was on the UCLA CC forum.

Thanks for the info. :]

haha i know what you mean. i just thought it would be good to have a post on something current rather than another post of "how much closet space". =p

Well, that's true. If I see another textbook/how long will it take me to walk from boelter to the moon/ SHIP/ dorm trading thread I'm going to cry. Big, huge tears.

I can't wait til school starts and people have interesting things to say/ask.

How long does it take to walk from Murphy to Ackerman? Will 7.5 minutes give me enough time?

^Just pulling your leg. :)

GAH. Hate!

:)

i dont eat anything green anyway..so no problem for me :-D

Lol. That was totally me until this summer.

No spinach still though. So I'm cool.

great...how am I suppose to resuce olive oyl now?

Actually we all have a form of e coli in our systems to being with, this particular strain EC 157 is the tough one. It's the one that can be in hamburger. They don't know how the contamination occurred or where for that matter. The interesting thing here is if the fields flood and there is EC bateria in the water it can be absorbed via the roots directly into the plant and cannot be washed off.

Spinach should be safe again in a few days after some field tests take place.

Yes. That's why all the hysteria is funny.

Why would college students eat spinach?

my thoughts exactly, flopsy.

i dunno maybe some of them are vegetarian

I like spinach :</p>

I am worried for Popeye. How can he save Olive?

Oh, the horror.

Spinach + ricotta cheese = lasagna filling

=D

I love making lasagna.

But I get my spinach fresh from the farmer's market.

lol. "how long will it take me to walk from boelter to the moon" was great, allie.
