I got an e-mail from Columbia saying that decision will be available online next Monday, March 31. Ehh I'm nervous! Anyone else get this?

I did.

and do you think that mean they're mailing letters THAT day, or are they going to try to have them be there by March 31?

I got that too! I was so disappointed - I thought that some decisions were already posted. But the page was blank.

yeah mine too... :(

yo tambien...i thought it was an early reject..since i have gmail and on the sides it says...pin number bla bla bla ...and then Thank You for your applic.....and i was like...*****......if didn't start with Congratulation!..then i thought it was pretty much over..thank god!!!

Omg I didn't get one of these emails I am screweedddd. I didn't get an interview invite either and I am a legacy...

^..don't freak out...call them up and ask....btw ..did you ever recieve an email that says your application was complete?

Yes I did, and I have an email that says my login id and everything.

Not everyone gets an interview either. I live right outside NYC, so going into get an interview by anyone would be VERY easy, but Columbia just doesn't do many interviews. Just because you are legacy and didn't have an interview, I'm sure you will be fine. In fact, every person I know who got into Columbia, both legacy and not, did not have an interview.

Then i would say not to worry...just be patient and wait for monday. There's really nothing you can do. You'll receive the email soon. They migh do it by region/race/random/god knows what order....just don't think about it until the day of. My spring break starts this thurs...i plan on hibernating for a couple of days until then.

I live IN Boston. There have got to be hundreds of alumni. This is ridiculous, my grandfather, father, two uncles and two aunts went to Columbia and I am freaking out about this more than any other school.

One word: hibernate......it cures everything for me.

johnnyhoward3: I kind of hate to tell you this now, but you could have had an on campus interview with an adcom since you were a legacy; this is practically guaranteed, but you have to ask an adcom for an interview - they will not offer you one.

Well thats great to know now. I wish I could hibernate, or go into an induced coma or something, this waiting process is ridiculous.

I just called the office and asked why I didn't get it and they had me on hold for 25 minutes! Basically, I asked the lady, "is this bad news?" She hesitates.
"uhhhh...no. No its not."

I'm done for.

Chill out johnnyhoward3. Email can get lost for a variety of reasons. Just login on 3/31 and you'll find out. I'm surprised you managed to get a real person via telephone...admissions offices are pretty slammed with calls this time of year. :)

johnny, dont freak too much!
everyone on the princeton forum received emails on different days. just think about the number of applicants there are to columbia. im sure your email will reach you in a few hours or a few days. until then, just relax. and as for the interview, i didn't get one either. not getting an interview doesn't affect you in any way, it just means there were none available. so take a deep breath. in 1 week everything will be over, and we'll either be really happy or really sad... but regardless, in the end, we'll all end up in a college thats right for us individually. (:

I received that e-mail. A got an interview with an alum who called me. I'm from Jersey about 45 minutes away from NYC. I guess there was just an alum in the area. I don't think that it's something that could really make or break you in terms of getting in or not.

Thanks guys, I hope I'm just reading too deeply into the whole thing. And yeah to WTBSAlumni, I was on hold for a LONG time lol. Good thing they had pleasant music playing.

Yeah, I got that email - means nothing, I wager.
