hey zdub08 what time was your cornell one (if you applied to cornell)

12:33 for cornell (CAS)

"it doesn't seem like a white girl from a boring midwest high school will catch their attention"

I kind of thought the same thing (except I'm a guy), but I think it might be better than coming from the east/west coast; I'm sure they get more apps from there.

heyy we're in the same time frame for both.. so maybe there is some sort of pattern or we're the same applicant level.

and hopefully. a girl from my school got into columbia years ago (which was a huge deal; my school doesn't send people to top schools, let alone an ivy) and she only had a 27 act i believe... but she was a minority. so yeah.

Mine was received March 24 5:20 A.M.
Submitted first part of my app to SEAS in Nov.
Last name is H.

So based on former posts, I guess they're sending out E-mails according to the time you submitted your first part of application, cuz I submitted my 2nd part quite late(last day). So calm down a bit, guys! The received time really doesn't matter.

But I guess those who don't get an E-mail may have a bad chance getting in..Not to freak you out, but I didn't get my Berkeley E-mail saying "We're worth the wait" stuff, and I end up rejected....

is columbia selective about who they interview? i thought it was just random based on the geographical location of the applicants

submitted app: first part Sep,Second part the last day
email: 6:16

chances: unsure, got an interview in Shanghai, but I need a huge FA..

email: 7:35
school: CC
last name: R
chances: unsure

submitted app: part 1: Octoberish...part 2: pretty close to the last day (dec 30 or so)

chances: ummmmm decentish....lol that still means i'll probably get rejected....

I thought it was just a standard email....

probably is. over in the cornell thread we have a bit of neurosis going on, however. just a bit of fun.

Acceptances went out via Fed Ex two years ago. Call Fed Ex and see if you have a package arriving. If so, you are in.

^^ ur intense

yaka: First of all, ED packages went out DHL for ED applicants this year. Second of all, packages are sent out tomorrow(check out bwog to see when the trucks come to pick the packages up).

plugs ears

La la la, la la la...I don't know what's going on in this thread, but I'll throw a couple of things out there:

1) ED admit packages were FedEx this year, not DHL (which they had been last year), meaning they will likely be FedEx again for RD this year.

2) mikesown is correct--decisions are not mailed until tomorrow, by which time you'll either already know your definite decision or you'll be a few hours from knowing. Calling FedEx will get you nowhere.

3) How insane do you have to be to actually want to find out from a FedEx rep?? It's not even a real decision. If they say you don't have a package coming, you'll spend the remaining hours wondering if it's a mistake. If they say you do have a package coming, you'll spend the remaining hours wondering if it's a mistake. That's just what happens when people call the mail carrier--more worry. It's not worth it in the slightest.

^Exactly. Calling FedEx would only open another can o' worrying. Best of luck to all you RDers!!

Thanks 2012.. I know for a fact that the Cornell theories are bogus (grandpa works there and called me an idiot just for asking) so this is pretty pointless too.

Everybody who got an email should post their decisions for future reference...even if we get rejected (but hopefully not!)

I got one and I'm pretty hopeful. I got accepted Stern but rejected MIT (they'll regret it one day! :P)
