You’re welcome!

Evan has a good point! UCLA didn’t ask for anything, but UCSD did (form+parent’s 1040)! Whoa…o__O;;

Evan has a good point! UCLA didn’t ask for anything, but UCSD did (form+parent’s 1040)! Whoa…o__O;;

It was SUCH a relief that UCLA did not ask for verification… I had to give UCSD my 1040 as well as my mothers… I had to go up to LA to get it. And for what… I’m not even going there (I didn’t know that at the time ha ha)!

It says I was “selected” for verification on my FAFSA. I did not receive an email from Berkeley. I guess I will see what Friday entails!

UCLA made me complete the dependent income verification form, which was a pain in the butt!

^ That’s the form I had for UCSD.

Hey guys, I know my post count is teh suck! But you guys are probably gonna start seeing me around here a little more often since there is a lot of good info here!

BTW, I also got the email! I can’t help but be excited :D

It’s all good, we all started in the single digits!

Can you give me the email for ucb pls…because i wanna check my junk mail…thanks

As far as what extra documents are needed…

Mine were
(1) proof of citizenship (for some reason the social security office didn’t have me listed as a citizen, even though my twin brother is!!!)
(2) some extra information about my brother who is going to college.

the email address was faoemail @ berkeley.edu (without the spaces)

I can bet a large portion of these people receiving the emails are immigrants. If you were born here, I don’t understand why they would ask you for proof of citizenship. I am also assuming the email is very good news.

i didnt get into ucla…so i wont get into ucb for sure…:(

^ THAT is one awesome assumption…
You didnt apply to Bob Jones University did you?

Spiderman, many people get cross rejected between UCB and LA. Stay hopeful.

My verification is definitely to show proof that I’m married. I filed independent since I’m married, but if you’re not married you have to be over 24 to claim your own income (instead of your parents’). I’ve had to provide proof of marriage (and the independent worksheet) all throughout my comm. college career.

eh… @ thebigsh0w

I’m not an immigrant. I was born in Santa Barbara California and my parents are both US citizens. It was just some crazy-sauce mix up with the social security office. I was completely baffled when fafsa told me i wasn’t a citizen when i first filled out the form.

I went to the social security office, and they didn’t know what happened either. The funny part is that i had to prove to them that i was a citizen, and i just used my social security card XD

@thebigsh0w

Definitely not immigrant here. Just a pale Caucasian male :P

@Floobnoobs

Sorry for the noob question, but can you clarify “cross-rejection”? I’ve heard so many things that connect UCLA and UCB that I don’t know what to think anymore.

I got accepted to UCLA btw.

There is no such thing as “cross-rejection”; UCLA’s admissions office doesn’t contact UCB’s admissions office and vice-versa.

Fact.

Let’s end the myth here once and for all.

^
Thank you, I was just about to quote that. I hate that dumb myth! -.-

I didn’t think it held any weight, but I kept seeing it come up over and over and over again, lol.

Hmm, I think I like these quick responses lol

In all honesty I dont see why they would quadruple their work by reviewing the financial aid profiles of those not accepted.

UCI did the same thing with me earlier, they asked me for proof of citizenship, nothing else and then a few days later i got my acceptance. Whats odd is I got into UCLA aswell but they havent asked for anything (im guessing they will ask if i file a SIR with them, dunno, hopefully i wont have to if i get into UCB :D!!)

But yeah, for those of you out there who didnt get the email I wouldnt be worried at all, lack of getting the email says nothing. It just says that IF you applied for Financial aid, IF your application is complete you didnt get an email.
