E-mail from UC Berkeley?

Not getting the email does not equal rejection. You can clearly see that in the post right above you.

Stats, eholla?

I applied for financial aid and I got the 3 emails. I believe the email means you are in if you applied for FAFSA!

I’m worried as well … submitted fafsa, did not get email.

3.83, econ, IGETC/pre-reqs completed

Maybe they sent the email to everyone who didn’t get in, and that was the error.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/919748-berkeley-financial-aid-email-acceptance-correlation-thread.html

^Ha, that would seriously suck.

^I wouldn’t put it past them. Which one was it that sent everyone acceptance letters, then had to rescind them due to an error. This was a year or 2 ago.

That was UCSD…and they made a similar blunder this year with the transfer engineering majors

oh god santacruz…that would kill me. hahahahaha ahhhh i neever thought of it like that.

~24 hours!

@naniwa

Yes, but someone else said they called the financial aid office, where someone said that everyone who submitted the FAFSA got the email. Since that is clearly not true, I thought not getting an email (and having submitted FAFSA) might be an indication of something.

@nick_scheu

Linguistics major
3.9 GPA 4.0 major GPA
IGETC/pre-reqs completed
Decent ECs

I was also admitted as a freshman two years ago, though I doubt that has any bearing on the decision.

^This is what I mean. You’re telling me that because of the email, I’m in over eholla, with my 3.53 GPA, 4.0 major poli sci, solid PS, ok ECs, and IGETC/ pre-reqs complete? We have similar stats, but eholla has a much stronger GPA. I know GPA isn’t everything, but whats the stats of everyone who has received the email vs. those who filed FAFSA, and didn’t receive it?

Not getting the email means nothing, historically. It means you’re both in.

From the other thread:
I’m a 4.0 Pol Sci major and I got the duplicate emails. My EC’s are ok (volunteering plus I’m an Eagle Scout).

****, I see what you’re saying. Perhaps we need a new thread, a pure information one that compares stats, major, whether they filed FAFSA, and whether they got the email. From this, perhaps a pattern can be deduced.

Or we can just not waste our time and wait until decisions are out tomorrow like we’re going to have to do anyways??

lol true. I suppose I’ve become caught in the excitement and anticipation. Time to go have my dinner field trip with the german class, and go pick up my new rifle. Good luck everyone, we’ll see what happens.

Oh, but if someone makes the stats/ email thread, I’ll post in it later ;D

^ i agree. even if you do all that, the information is gonna be completely skewed because of all the people who aren’t posting their stats and all the people who don’t post on college confidential. the only way to most accurately assess this situation is to wait until tomorrow…that way we can all compare stats and see if getting the e-mails has a strong correlation to getting accepted.

honestly, i hope that the people who did get the e-mails get in!! lol.

Its already biased. Only people who are neurotic and are also concerned about their grades/chances are posting all over these threads haha. Yeah I hope that everyone who got the email gets in too!

The emails mean we’re in, guys.

My friend called them and the guy on the phone told him that those emails were supposed to be sent tomorrow to all admitted applicants.
