My son only applied to one school - the only one he has ever wanted to go to as his brother went and loved it. Last year he got in, but got 0 fa, so there was no way we could swing it. This year he reapplied for 9th grade again. He wouldn't check online, because he is afraid of the decision. He left his e-mail page up and I noticed that he received an e-mail from the school while he was out. He hadn't opened it yet, but I accidentally clicked on the "preview" box (he's going to kill me), and the e-mail says "Click here for an important message from the admissions office!"
Could this mean good news? When I had telephoned Friday to see how the school was sending out it's acceptances, they told me they were postmarking everything (acceptances, rejections, deferrals) March 10th, or you could check online beginning at midnight. They didn't say anything about e-mails.
Help!!!! We are wimps.

Well, what's the important message?

I don't think it's the official decision - I think it's just what it is, a message. Ask your son before you open it, though.

You'll have to wait to find out tomorrow if he doesn't want to check online, I guess. Not sure about the e-mail. Could be something like revisit dates, could be a letter urging you to reply to be on a waitlist. Not sure why they would send you an e-mail regarding a rejection unless it was the actual letter.

My daughter got an email acceptance that started just like that, earlier this afternoon !

Yes, it was a notification of acceptance!!!! My son is on cloud nine. I guess the school must have it set up so that if you are too much of a wimp to check online, it automatically sends you an e-mail with the link. I think they only did this with acceptances.
