So i just got several e-mails and now a letter from Princeton and I am wondering how seriously should i take this...the way i see it princeton just wants to maximize its population of applicants to earn $$$....which sucks because in order to do this they have to invest false hope into the minds of many..any thoughts

Universities send emails to a ton of people. They don’t care who you are. It’s nothing special.

very good.

This. They’re just promoting themselves - they’re not trying to specifically recruit you.

Sorry …

Well, some universities buy mailing lists from College Board based on your PSAT level. Princeton, for example, is not sending those come-on emails to kids who scored below a certain point. However, there are tens of thousands of kids who did score above that point (I don’t know the exact cut-off) and they will clearly not be accepting anywhere near that many. So take it as a sorta meaningless compliment that you’re doing well enough at this point to be part of a top-tier college’s spam list. LOL.

lol…i knew i wasnt getting “recruited” i was just wondering how common it was. Great to know I am spam worthy though…
