Awwww, we just missed each other, not that it would've have been completely stalker-ish, creepy, and awkward.. but yeah. I didn't actually stay on campus.. I just sat in on classes, took the tour and infosession, and walk around. It was pretty cool though :) I might see if I can stay overnight with a friend in the fall.

I went for the junior fly-in, I would most definitely suggest staying : ) and it's so much better when you have a friend there to show you around because then you get a better feel for campus and what it's like to be a student there

I'm visiting this week!

XiΞiX - I think with a name like that you deserve to get into MIT

ps. it is secretely my heart's desire to apply to MIT, but I would NEVER get in -- thus I've decided to avoid it all together. I wish you all the best of luck :)

So.. you're applying to Yale?

correct!

Well you see, I've never done anything remotely related to math or science in my life. I don't even plan on taking Math IIC and I highly doubt that my math SAT score will be above 730 (writing/reading should be goody though).

... maybe I will apply? But the not taking IIC could be a problem, am I right?

Technically, you can take IC... They say that they don't have a preference of which level, but I think that IIC is better-looked-upon just because it's harder for lack of a better explanation.

^^ no, I seriously think they look upon them both the same, just depending on your high school background. Also, the "easier" content of I is made up by the fact that it has a much harder scale, from what I've heard.

I guess yeah, but still psychologically, doesn't math 2 have some sort of impact? I mean.. the easier curve just tests how good of a test-taker you are.. Idk.

Anyone have ideas about what majors they are looking for? (just asking)

haha um. 18 or 15, with either double major or minors in 21w and 21m :D
or just some combination of the above.

Neat ! best o'luck !

haha i'm just all over the place.... what about you?

I hope we all get to meet sometime. i was wondering though guys, what do you guys do extracurricular wise at your schools. i mean i know MIT is Engineering based and all but what kind of activities have you guys been panning out over the last three years?

I visited yesterday! It was amazing:-)

Extracurriculars: I do a lot of music/artsy stuff. Pep band, dance, theatre techie, flute, etc.

This thread makes me laugh. I can't believe that the '12s are no longer the hypercollegecrazy class--it's been transferred to the '13s!

IMHO, 2012 has a MUCH better ring to it. Sorry, guys. =P

Oh, and good luck! Getting in EA is awesome, but if you're deferred it DEFINITELY isn't the end of the world. Bballdude and I can both attest to the fact that a significant number of deferees (even dumb ones like me who don't send post-deferment updates until mid-February) DO get in. =P

Haha la montagne, but 2012 is the apocalypse! [url=http://www.apocalypse2012.com/]Apocalypse 2012 : An Investigation into Civilization's End/url

Extracurriculars: A lot of piano and creative writing stuff, then math and science things during school. :D Just nothing amazing... which kind of sucks. :/
