Results is supposed to be out yesterday but we did not get an email and no extra button on “decision letter” on Coalition.
Something must have gone wrong. Is it all over for us?
Should we still hold out hope?

@SoofDad you seems to be an expert in UMD, do you mind helping me out here? Please? Feeling a little discouraged about the whole thing. A reject would be better than a glitch in Coalition…
You should call UMD admissions on Monday. My D applied before the Coalition App was in use, so I’ve can’t say much about it.
I a in same boat. no extra button in coalition app. Pls update if you hear back anything, Any idea when next decision wave comes out
Is an extra button supposed to be next to checklist in coalition app?
Maybe you can send him to community college till next year and apply for a transfer. MD takes 2000 transfers every year.
@ppxyz123 please call them (301-314-8377) I just did and I think the hope is still alive for us! I waited almost an hour to speak to someone, but worth it. Please call them! Good luck!
Thanks will call and check it out.
Will the decision be posted later or did they inform you the decision right away. Is it appearing in your coalition app?
Was there any reason why the application was not considered since everything was complete for EA?
@meiyong will the decision appear by 31st on coalition app
Sorry, there’s not much they told us, except that we will have a decision later. No dates given. I suspect they are not supposed to say much… good luck!!
No word for us either- he applied through Coalition also. Hoping to hear soon
I think you just slipped through the cracks. With 30,000 to 40,000 applicants, there are bound to be errors - unfortunately you were the ones affected.
@jpoling Call or email them, in case something is going on…
@reads2222 yes, I think so… I wonder whether they would have done anything if I haven’t called… with so much on the line, it is good to be proactive instead of regretting it later…
Definitely call them. If your schedule does not allow you to spend much time on the phone, send them an email following the instructions at https://admissions.umd.edu/enroll/freshman-admission-decision-faqs. I heard back in 24 hours. If you do not hear back, try to call.
The person on the phone actually said they sent out decisions in waves. (I called again)
The person did say if I still don’t see the decision late next week, to give them another call.
Did they give you the admission decision over the phone?
Nope, I think they cannot give you the decision over the phone.
My guess is that you didn’t get all of your required items in by the priority deadline and have been moved into the regular applicant pool. You will get your decision when all the other regulation applicants get theirs.
Talked to Admissions today- my son’s recommendation letters didn’t get carried over to UMD even though they are definitely in his Coalition application and have been since September. Waiting to hear back from Coalition. UMD said that if it was a Coalition error that he would still be considered for priority admission status.
All of those who had COMPLETED applications in Coalition received their decisions. If you haven’t, it likely means something is missing from your application materials. In that case you’ll be rolled into the regular decision pile - but be sure to call if you aren’t certain!
