So it says on the website that they'll notify us on (or around?) January 31.

I just wanted to know if from past years they've set/said similar dates but then end up notifying earlier? It just seems as if Jan 31 is tooo late (or maybe that's just because I'm completely too impatient).

And when they do notify, does everyone find out on the same day?

I thought I heard that last year they informed really early january. But I may be wrong. Any comments?

yeah last year they informed like early January. I don't think it will be as late as Jan. 31, I'm guessing that's just the worst case scenario. Let's hope for early January!

Yes I think it was the same. His school was notified really early on. I forget if it was by mail or email I will ask him when he eventually wakes up. He catches up on his sleep when he comes home. Sounds like UNC is the place. Challenging academics, big college sports. Can't wait

The deadline has been the same since they did away with EA/ED and went to early notification. I would expect that you will hear sometime during the week of the 15th.

So what does everyone think....Early, Mid, or Late January? Also, for EA do we check online or must we wait for slow mail? If it's online, anyideas on how we'll know when to check?

It'll be online. I'm not sure if they email you to tell you that admissions decisions have come on, but word will spread fast, especially on this forum.

Hoping, well praying for early January. I can only imagine the bundle of nerves I will be. I get nervous enough hearing back from scholarships. Anyway let's hope for January 5.

i was bored on the way to a basketball game and called the admissions people. I asked the question about when the first one comes out like 15 different ways but each time the lady would only give the dates on the website. I think they are close-mouthed about it overall. However, she did say we would all have our letters BY the 15th. So i'm guessing they'll come out between Jan 5 and 15.
