EA Acceptances!

Hey,

Well, I just wanted to let you guys know, if you applied Early Action, Tulane has started mailing out acceptance letters, I got mine yesterday!

~Ben

Congratulations!

schwing!!!
WOW!!! Did u write a personal statement??? that's why i am delaying mine!

I did that "Personal App" or whatever, that had no application fee, so there was only like a very short paragraph you had to write I think. Thanks guys, good luck!

How long did it take from the time you sent in your application?

P.S. Congrats !!

Hmm, well, I'd say about a month, like they said, it was definitely worth it because it's not even November and I already know I got in somewhere, which is quite reassuring, thanks, and good luck!

Has anyone been deferred or rejected? This should be a unique year for admissions process.

^ Yeah, I agree....I only know one other who applied though, and he forgot to send in his SAT scores...so....

Congrats to all of you that have been accepted so far, I am sure there will be more to come. My son is a sophomore that has been displaced this semester and is presently attending The University of Miami, not happily I may add. He is counting down the days until he can return to his house on Broadway. We are in New Orleans right now to check things out. Haven't been on campus yet. That will happen later today. We are really looking forward to that. His house on Broadway isn't looking too good, not happy about that. My son started a website soon after Hurricane Katrina hit and with the permission of President Cowen started selling reminderbands for that say Roll Wave with the Tulane logo and Save NOLA. We are are funding this project entirely. All the proceeds are going to go to President Cowen to determine what needs there are. Initially part of the money was going to go to the Red Cross, but we received many emails asking us to give President Cowen the money and have him divide it up, feeling confident that it would go to the right places since he is on the commission to Bring Back New Orleans. President Cowen has a bracelet as does all the other members of the Bring Back New Orleans commission. So visit his site and help support Tulane and the people of New Orleans. www.savetulane.com

Once again congrats to all of you that have already been accepted and good luck to those of you that are still waiting to hear. Come to Tulane and help rebuild this great city. Nowhere else in this country can you make more of a difference. :)

Lori

^ Thanks Lori!

I have serious ants in my pants...

When do decisions come out?? I submitted Oct. 27th....and i am anxiously waiting...

You should find out within a few weeks, it seemed like there was about a 4 week turnaround for me, maybe a little less. GOOD LUCK!

I got mine today!

I got in yesterday! It only took about three weeks for the decision.

^ Congrats guys!

Accepted. I got my letter about 2 weeks after I actually remembered to send them my SAT scores.

Wow, has anyone been rejected yet? What are you guys getting in with? I got the "Personal Application" where you don't pay the fee and don't HAVE to write the essay (I did anyways), but my standards are WAY below the average Tulane kid...I'm more like the average LSU kid. I'm not counting on getting in, but I'm interested to see how their admissions have changed this year. Even if I do get in though, 41 G's is a hell of alot of $$$

Heres my stats:

Black Male ( In-state)

3.8 gpa weighted, 3.3 unweighted

Class rank : 75 - 312 (Top 25%)
1850 SAT (640 verbal, 640 math, 570 writing)

The only AP im taking is psychology.

ECS
Basketball (9th)
DECA - President (11th, 12th)
FBLA - Member (11th, 12th)
Who's Who in High School (yea it doesnt matter)
Ventures Scholar
National Society of High School Scholars
National Honor Roll

I got in with a 34 ACT, decent ECs, and a 4.1 weighted GPA. I took mostly honors and AP classes.

the "personal application" isn't binding, correct? because I already applied somewhere ED and Tulane is certainly not my number 1 choice
