^ No, if you do Early Action on the personal app. it isn't, however, it might be too late for that now?

Tulane has EA and ED. EA isn't binding.

The personal app is not binding unless you mark ED.

I'm so excited I got in today! i opened my mailbox and as always when i see only small envelopes i say 'please dont be from college please dont be from college' and then there was one from tulane..so i thought i didnt get in. So opened it and see "i am please to offer you admission" such an amazing feeling after you thought you were rejected

congrats, pepgirly14

Congratulations, pepgirly!
Has anyone heard who submitted their application on Nov 15?

O.K. I have a quick question. So far I have submitted
-Personal Application
-ACT Scores
-Counselor Form

Is that it than? Shouldn't I submit a letter of rec from a teacher? Also I don't know if I should send my SAT II scores. They were very high yet the SAT I scores were really really low so I don't want them to see how bad that was. Is SAT II even a factor in admissions? Thanks for the help.

My daughter also was admitted EA yesterday. The turn around time from the day the application was e-mailed to getting the acceptance letter in the mail was 2 weeks.

pilebay- call them up. Last year my D did submit a teachers rec anyway. When she asked about SAT 2 scores they told her to not bother to send them since they do not consider them.
Last year they were very helpful.

Yay, yay, yay - my daughter just received her Tulane acceptance today! It was fun seeing her scream and dance!

congrats! Exciting times

when do we find out about merit scholarships?

Last year, the kids with early acceptances (ca. 12/13-12/15) heard about the DSA and Founders toward the end of December (after Christmas), by letter. The DHS is on its own schedule with a separate application and announcement date (might have been some time in February last year - don't remember).

I got my acceptance on Dec 1st after submitting it on 11/15.. so fast! Yay!

I sent my application in November 29th do you think I will know before Christmas???? This was not early action though it was just that personal application thingie that they sent out.

^ I don't know, I think it was only if you applied EA/ED that you got notified within 4 weeks.

O.K. I called the admissions office the other day and they said that they do not want or need SAT II for making the decision. They only want them for when you are admitted for placement purposes. Thought that maybe someone out there might need to know that.....

BlueSon accepted today -- used online personal app, submitted Nov 1, but school rec did not arrive until Nov 17 (700 students/GC)

My daughter was accepted today into the College of Engineering. She has received regular correspondence from Tulane since early in her Junior year. She was sent a priority application. We thought it was a long shot but...so she was happy to receive the acceptance letter. She probably won't go without an offer of money which may be tough.

Her stats are odd --- great in every way except the Verbals...oddly she's always done well in English and in other standarized tests??

SAT I: V-510 W- 600 M - 720
SAT II: Math II -- (the harder one) - 730
Rank: 23/367
GPA - 4.59 Weighted 3.69 Unweighted
AP - Comp Sci 1 - 5
Comp Sci 2 - 4
Calc AB -4
French -2

Currently taking AP Stat and AP Calc BC

She was actively pursued by Tulane with written correspondence --- maybe because she's a girl with lots of Math/Engineering/Computer Science potential.

Anyway, because of the price it will unlikely be her choice....but very exciting to receive the acceptance letter......made her day!

Tulane is doing away with the bulk of its engineering department, just announced today. Washinton Post excerpt:

The university also said that it will concentrate on areas where it can excel. Five undergraduate programs _ civil and environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, computer engineering and exercise and sports science _ will be eliminated.
