EA admit rate versus RD admit rate

the title says it all

Unlike some other schools, where there is a big advantage to applying early, Georgetown’s EA admit rate and regular decision admit rate are the same. They do not want to shut out good, qualified applicants who choose to apply during the regular decision process.

ya it really is the same thing. i used the EA option because I wanted to know what colleges I should or shouldn’t apply to regular decision. Georgetown was my number one, so by applying early, I saved about 500 dollars because I didn’t apply to Columbia, Dartmouth, Penn, GWU, American, Northwestern, UChicago, Wake Forest, and possibly Yale for regular decision.

I echo the previous two posters. This is exactly what son’s EA acceptance letter said last December.

you never NEED three, even during regular decision. it is strongly recommended for both ea and rd.

i have the same question. im not really satisfied with two of my subject test scores and was wondering if it is possible to be admitted to walsh SFS without 3 test scores

i agree with the above posters as well. if i get in, i will definitely go. its also a great feeling to know that im in a great school before christmas break. what a great christmas gift that would be!

how much of an affect will there be between two and three satIIs

If you apply EA you don’t need three; I applied and got in with just two. However, if you get deferred you should be prepared to take that third test.

or could it be that since you had such great numbers it didnt matter if you took 2 or 3
for some of us, that third test could be a difference maker in the eyes of the admissions officers…although i really do not want to retake a third test

I applied EA in 2009 without having taken any SAT IIs yet, and managed to get in. My EC’s are fairly good (lots and lots of music, member of some very competitive ensembles, one national recognition), and my combined R+M (they don’t consider writing thankfully!) was 1510 at the time. So I really don’t think they care if you have taken the subject tests if you’re applying EA. Also my girlfriend had only taken two subject tests when she applied RD and had around a 1360 SAT. She called to make sure it was ok to take another subject test after applying, which she did, and we heard she got in a few days ago! :D

^ haha according to that it’s actually more difficult to enter Georgetown EA than RD
