Hey everyone
I know that Stanford said they will send finalized financial aid offers by late March, but has anyone received this yet? hmmmm..and the info on my Axess has not changed a bit either...

I haven't received mine yet either. Maybe they're sending it with the RD decisions.

nope nada yet..

Nothing here, but i sent in my final CSS stuff a bit late (as in, a month later)

No official letter, but i checked axess and they had changed my fin aid from what i got as an estimate. So i'm assuming the new axess data is the "finalized" version.

what's axess??

paulhomework - I've been trying to access axess but I'm too stupid - I set up my account but I can't get to anything! I need step-by-step instructions. Help!!!

Actually, I figured it out. (I can managed AP Calc, but not basic technology. Okay, sometimes not AP Calc.) My stuff hasn't changed ... but my parents made about $2000 less than estimated on the Profile. Should that be meaningful at all?

Axess is stanford's secure online website. It's where you register for classes and pay fees (i think). Right now early admits have their fin aid info on it. It appears that some have updated info and some don't.

Jellybean: It'll probably make your fin aid a bit better, but not significantly.

Paulhomework- How do you access financial aid information?

(I was an SCEA admit and just set up my SUnet ID)

go to https://axess.stanford.edu and then login with your SUnet ID.
You'll see the "View financial aid" link on the left...

Hmm..I still have not noticed any change..

no change for me either

Hey, i have news for you guys. I have a friend who works in the fin aid office - as a fin aid counselor - and he says that fin aid packages will be sent off on April 4th. Hope this helps :)

thanks...that really does help

yep good luck with the packages hehe.

Thanks! Mine did change a little.

Another quick question: if you get an outside scholarship, do they take that money out of the scholarship or does it lessen the amount for loan/work-study?

Yes, I e-mailed the admissions office and they too said we should hear back in early April about finalized aid. I'm a little worried though - I just got my offer from Duke and it was MUCH worse than mine from Stanford - $5,000 in grants worse. I'm hoping Stanford doesn't change my offer. Duke gave me work study, and Stanford didn't. Duke also gave me $2,000 more in loans (vs. grants) and my EFC was $3,000 higher. I'm hoping Stanford stays like it is or I will start a row. I just wanted to say row. For those of you whose offers changed, was it a big change for the worse for anyone?

to stressedoutsenior: Outside scholarships reduce your loan/work study as long as the amount of scholarship is not greater than those two combined. If it's more, i think Stanford reduces their need-based grant (scholarship).

to jellybean: mine was a small change for the better

my EFC went up $5000 while the cost of attending went up about $4,000 since the December estimate. I have no idea how we would miraculously be able to pay more money seeing as to the fact that my dad makes exactly the same amount, if not a little bit less. My parents have never had a kid in college before, and are seriously freaking out. I will absolutely cry if I have to give up Stanford:( It sucks too because Northwestern is asking for even more money than Stanford, and I hope Notre Dame offers me something....I guess we have to wait and see.
