EA and RD Chances!

Although I'm going to apply to Georgetown, I know surprisingly little about how competitive its admissions are. Hopefully all of you could help me out.

State: Illinois
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: White
Income: Will file for FA, but I absolutely don't have any money issues.

My intended major is Poly Sci, with a possible double major of econ, history, or international relations.

GPA UW: 3.94 (two B's)
GPA W: 4.556
Class Rank: 5th, or Top 2%

Counting senior year, 11 AP classes. From the results I have, 3 5's and 4 4's. All A's in AP classes.

ACT:
April: 33
June: 33

Extracurriculars:
4 Years Debate, 2 Year Captain
4 Years Quiz Bowl, 4 Year Captain
2 Years NHS

Awards:
Numerous from debate (up to state level) and quiz bowl.
AP Scholar with Distinction

Community Service:
Probable 60 by time of application (I know that it sucks)

Recommendations:
One from debate coach (probable 9 or 10/10) (note that they were never my teacher)
One from APUSH teacher (probable 8 or 9/10)
If a guidance rec is necessary, it won't be bad, but not too specific.
If I need one more teacher rec, it should be 8/10.

Essays:
Should be good to excellent. I consider myself a good writer, and I'll be as honest as I can be.

I know that my few extracurriculars probably seem off-putting, but I can talk endlessly about them, and they take up a lot of my time. Debate especially would qualify as a passion. Any and all essays about them will be fantastic.

Thanks!

Can’t double major with IR. And EA/RD doesn’t matter. If you’re going to get in, you’ll get in.

Both of those pieces of information are duly noted.

Excellent chances either RD or EA. Your ACT is at the higher percentile of the 50% ACT score (29-33) of the admitted Freshmen class in 2012. Your GPA is excellent as well, and your passionate ECs are well demonstrated.

Georgetown: High Match

I would be a bit surprised if you were rejected. Best of luck to you

Thanks, Achilles!

Not a problem! And I appreciate the chance back! :)
