EA applicants hoping for decision on 12/15?

@jumbletumbles just curious, what other aid could be included in the package they sent now? FAFSA’s haven’t been submitted yet, right? Seems like only merit aid could be included right now.

There are several other non-financial need/FAFSA dependent scholarships. Athletic, Special Recognition (like NMF), Diversity, ROTC, etc. Not sure when all of them are announced, but I’m fairly certain at least athletic scholarship notification is early on & the diversity program people are accepted into the program with scholarship notification too. Miami is really good at offering many opportunities outside of the merit grid too.

S got the pkg. the merit letter is a separate piece of mail. They came at the same time.

$22/yr. 34/4.0. OOS

It seems to me like he should have gotten more. You will still be paying over $10,000 in tuition. It seems with his stats he could get a better deal. If that’s all I get I’ll be staying here in Cal going to a higher ranking UC.

@firstsax , keep in mind these are merit scholarships only. Full financial aid packages come out down the road. I think 22k per year is very good when tuition is 32K. The top rated schools don’t have merit scholarships at all.

My D is in state, got 10k merit, no mention of honors. 33 ACT (34 superscore), gpa 3.69. Her gpa went up a lot senior year so far, not sure if that will help with getting into honors. Also, she did the Bridges program so not sure if this amount includes that scholarship or that will be separate. She got more money from other private schools but net cost will be lowest here with in state.

Mine just came. 19k/yr. That brings cost to my in-state tuition. UC Davis gives a $7500/yr. Regents Scholarship to top 5%, so I’ll just hope for that. Also, Berkeley gives fantastic aid.

Accepted on the 19th. OOS, 32 ACT superscore. 3.89 UW GPA and 4.23 W GPA. Havent seen anything about honors or scholarships yet.

I was accepted through the portal on the 19th, with honors. I got my letter today, which said I was also selected for UASP and was awarded $14.5k/yr merit scholarship (I’m in-state, so this is a full-tuition scholarship for me). I’m still waiting to hear back from a few EA schools and all my RD schools, plus I was already accepted to Ohio State w/ scholarship, so I probably won’t be attending Miami but you never know! Oh, and my stats are 4.65 GPA (4.0 UW), 35 ACT, many extracurriculars and leadership, lots of volunteer hours at hospital, etc. Biochem major on pre-med track. Congrats to all that got accepted and I hope everyone has a great holidays!!

Accepted direct into Farmer (no mention of honors)
1960 SAT
3.63 UW 4.89 W

Do merit scholarships come out later or did they come out now with acceptances??

I was accepted through the portal on the 19th but only found out on the 21st through the mail. merit scholarship info came in the mail separately on the 22nd.

I received honors and 19K in merit, 3.7 (UW) /2130 SAT/ 33 ACT

Received 11,000 per year in merit
1960 SAT
3.63 UW 4.89 W

I received my acceptance today. I wanted to be considered for honors but do not know how to find out if I was accepted or not. There was no mention on the application status page so I am assuming I was not considered. Where do you see that you were accepted into the honors program??? Also do you know how they choose?? I have not received the actual letter in the mail yet because I am on vacation, but I saw my acceptance via the portal. I am graduating high school w 7 APs. GPA UW: 3.6. SAT: 2050 (1330 reading and math). as well as an extensive list of extracurriculars. Is there any way to see about merit scholarships online??

3.5 uw/3.7w ; 29 Act — 12k merit OOS. Farmers direct admit

Got my scholarship letter!

OOS, 3.4 UW, 2160 SAT.

$28k/year, partially based on Bridges attendance + UASP selection! My decision process is getting harder every day. I’m going to go watch Netflix for the rest of my break, and hope I come out of it knowing what’s best for me. (I feel very, very lucky.)

Does anyone know where to check if I got merit scholarships?
Is it just on the acceptance letter in the applicant portal? or will there be a separate letter?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is it possible to do both Honors and Scholars, or do you have to pick one? I was accepted to both and I haven’t been able to find anything to answer this question. Thanks!

@purpleevic I found out about my merit scholarship (and UASP) by a letter that I received in the mail today. The portal didn’t say anything about merit, only about honors acceptance.

@drew1710 Yes, you can be in both Honors and Scholars. No need to choose unless you don’t want to be involved with one or the other for whatever reason.

Finally got my merit aid letter. $15,000/year. Not too bad, I think. 32 ACT, 3.4-ish GPA.
