I unfortunately do not have all my test scores and recommendations in line to apply early to some of my schools like Villanova. I noticed the majority of applicants applied early to this. If I apply in the minority of applying regular will my application look worse to admission then those who applied early and got bumped to regular decision?
Please Help
Thanks

If the colleges consider level of interest it may make a difference. Otherwise, if the applicant is dropped back to RD then you’re all on equal footing.

Some schools let test scores and recommendations arrive late. You should look into that if you are considering early action.

At worst, they would move your application to RD from EA, but you could try if you don’t want to call.

Have you taken the tests? If so, then there’s time to get them in, just submit the requests by the deadline, they don’t have to arrive by that date. The only thing that needs to be in by the deadline is your application, the supporting documentation can arrive up to a few weeks later.

@MrMom62 I have taken the test but it’s not up to what I can get it to be. Also at Villanova to do early action you can only use up to the October SAT. So I need to wait till regular decision. That’s why I need to know if it will hurt me if I do regular decision

RD is RD - it’s the baseline, it is “regular”. So we don’t refer to it as hurting you to apply then, it’s just normal admissions. You have the same chance as everyone else.

At this point you say you can’t move your app to EA since Nova won’t accept your SAT. Why are you bothering to ask about this? You can’t do anything about it. Quit picking at the scab, put your app in RD and make sure you have some other schools on your list (including a safety!).

From Villanova’s site:

Aside from honors consideration I doubt there’s any difference between RD and ED especially since they said this

But as all everyone above me has stated, only YOUR common app [also stated on website] needs to be turned in today, most of these colleges are getting applications from hundreds of thousands of students, they aren’t going to be breaking into decision mode anytime soon.
