Has anyone heard anything yet?

Not yet. Isn't the notification by Feb 1?

Yes, the site says notification by Feb. 1. Just wondered if they start notifying applicants before that date. Guess we'll just have to wait.

According to the Admissions Office last week, they'll be mailing out EA letters on 1/14. Fingers are crossed for the EA applicants, S included!

got mine today, but I have to say I am really disappointed with "Global Citizen Scholarship". I've been offered 50% more in scholarships from 3 other schools that are more competetive. We won't qualify for financial aid, so overall the school costs much more than all the others.

I might call and ask if this is all I can expect, but since it isn't my top choice, I probably shouldn't bother. My stats looked much higher than the norm. I really liked the school - it was not my top choice, but it was up there.

That's disappointing Spicegurl. If you are interested, you should probably call, but it doesn't sound like that's the case. My S hasn't heard yet, but would love to go there if the $$ is right.

I was accepted today. I got the Global Citizens scholarship, which was nice mainly because they've been the only school to offer me merit aid thus far. So basically, my parents are happy and I'm happy because it means that, no matter how bad the economic situation gets, if I get more aid from need-based, I won't have to stay in-state. So yeah...I'm really excited! Goucher certainly isn't my top choice, but this made me feel awesome.

Hi Cpeltz! Thanks, I've been thinking it over, and it's not that bad. I was used to getting the same exact number every time I opened an envelope. I wondered if it was a conspiracy. Then Goucher's was quite different. I wonder if I made a big mistake on the supplement by truthfully filling in all of the schools I was applying to! Goucher's starting price isn't quite as high as some of the others also.

I am absolutely going to call if the school moves up on the radar. Best of luck to your son!

Congrats MP153!

I think it's a neat school.

My S heard today and is thrilled because Goucher is his first choice. He got the Dean's Scholarship for 21,000 a year. I think the thing that worked in his favor was that he had an interview, told them he loved Goucher, and moved his application from RD to EA at their suggestion. HIs application was reviewed just a couple of weeks after the interview. He had a 98.14 average and 1350 sat. Glowing letters of rec. It puts it in reach for us. We had visited last April and he loved the feel of the place, the small classes, the writing program.

Good luck to all that are waiting!

Longeyemom, congrats to you and your S! What a generous scholarship, you must both be thrilled.

We're on the west coast and nothing came today, so it looks like we'll hear next week, hopefully with the same good news of acceptance with merit.

I was accepted too. Is anyone else getting an error message when they log into the financial aid website?

we got an error message too

I received my EA letter yesterday; I was admitted with a full tuition Dean's scholarship worth $32,168 per year. Goucher is not my first choice, but perhaps this scholarship will change my mind :)

By the way, does anyone know whether EA applicants have to submit midyear reports? Mine won't be available for another month.

Those of you who were accepted today w/ merit offers -- was your offer in your admissions packet, or did you check online?

It was mentioned in my letter. It said somewhere that they were thrilled to offer me the Global Citizens Scholarship worth $12500/year.

Also, is anyone else disappointed at the lack of a Facebook group? I'd love to connect with other prospectives and ask current students questions and all, but don't want to make one since I don't know that I'll be going.

DD also heard positive news today. Good luck to those still waiting to hear.

I got in too. Congrats to everyone else who got in.

Is there anyone who feels comfortable with revealing their fin aid? Really tactless, I know, but I keep hearing that their finaid isn't quite up to snuff. Did anyone qualify for need based finaid?

Ouch - deferred to RD.

Daughter got her acceptance letter today - those on the west coast should be hearing something around now. Drats, no scholarships - but still hoping she'll qualify for some financial aid. The acceptance letter did mention Goucher received 4,000 applications this year for 400 spots.
