And im in NSHSS

That’s all I swear

@ivycoolz can you elaborate?

@ivycoolz would you like to explain, or no

Chance based on academic achievement, your chance is very low. Class rank below 10%, ACT below mid 50, GPA below average with lack of rigorous course load. Your EC is also only around average.
By the way, you have an error in the ACT score.

@billcsho that wasn’t an a error. I put my highest composite and highest subscores. And since we didn’t have any APs I took all college level classes on a campus.

Bumpppppppppp

I think Stanford is a reach. Generally in your school report it will be revealed that your school offered no APs. I think your ECs help a lot.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1569738-chances-i-chance-back.html

You should have specified those are highest section scores. Anyway, Stanford mainly look at the best composite score and the best Eng/writing combine score. Did you take the ACT with writing? Also, did you take any SAT2?

@billscho yea I got an 8 in the writing and my only got like 650 in math 1 I don’t think I’ll send it. I want to major in biomedical computation btw

Can someone chance me for the rest of these schools also?

Really anyone?

Sorry stanford is a no-go for the most part.

Also, precalc as a senior?

For Rice, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, Virginia, your chances are better. ACT is still a bit low. It all depends on your essays and recs from here on out. Also, your desired major might have an influence but your app doesnt show dedication towards a certain field

@tyrtle yeah, if you look I. The hooks section I skipped my junior year. Also, it’s aimed toward the whole yoyo thing. It shows in my essays

Skipping junior year may or may not be a good idea. First, did you check if you have fulfilled the course requirement for these schools your are applying (e.g. 4yr English, 4 yr Math, 2-4yr foreign language, 3yr lab science, etc)? Second, some of the schools on your list require or recommend SAT2 scores. With ACT 31, you are a bit below the admission average for most of these schools. You do need something else to show your academic achievement besides skipping one year.

I would say you have a decent chance. Stanford is definitely a reach and you would need to have a stellar essay to even be considered. However it is unlikely that you will be able to make it past first admissions cuts when they look at scores first. The whole wholistic thing is ********.

@14daltg I was thinking the same thing. Im ultimately hoping my EC’s, awards, hooks, and the yoyo thing will make me stand out enough. My essays are killer it think. I wrote about how yoyoing changed my life for the common app, transitioning from band to football for the extra curricular, being the youngest person attending a D1 university for the academic vitality, a cute letter to my roommate, and how medicine is important to me because I want to help families who have a cancerous parent like I do.

High reach.

You may want to save your Early application for another school. Your stats are really not in the ballpark for Stanford. The school won’t care that you skipped a year. In fact, they prefer that kids don’t so they get the most academic preparation possible. Stanford had the lowest acceptance rate in the country for this year and they are choosing from the most accomplished kids in the world. There is nothing that says you are a superstar that they need to have. I know kids who were doing linear algebra and differential equations in middle school. One went to a nationally recognized university starting age 12. The difference is all of these kids in HS aced their college level courses, SAT I and II’s and did other phenomenal things on the side. Not trying to discourage you but rather save you from disappointment. Idk, if you are hell bent on applying then good luck. Perhaps, you have a small chance because you are 1st generation but you are not low-income so even that is not much of a hook.
