EA Chances please?

ALSO, I realize that UMich is so costly for an OOS. If it's possible that i can get in, I'm wondering how much financial aid i would probably get. Will it still cost me $40,000+/semester at UMich?

Thanks!

Great chance for EA admission.
Little chance for OOS merit aid.

so according to you, you feel like i wouldn’t get any money at all?

Little to no merit aid, I’d guess. Instate merit aid is hard enough to come by; I can’t imagine trying to get OOS. You might get a nice package for need based aid, etc. but I wouldn’t count on merit aid if that’s an important factor in your decisions. Best thing to do would be apply and see what happens.

^ What that person said.

I hear that UMich has great financial, need-based aid.

I heard just a few days ago of an OOSer who had a high FAFSA. She was given $37,000/yr–only leaving room and board to be paid. With a work-study job, she’ll probably leave with less than $7,000 of debt.

I think you were trying to provide support for UM’s good need based FA.

Do you mean that there was a high EFC? If so, doesn’t that mean that there is LESS NEED in that case? Or did you mean there was a low EFC?

Is there somewhere on UM’s website that gives institutional data on FA - how much to OOS, how much is merit, how much is need based?

thanks guys. im going to just apply and hope for the best even though its not extremely promising.
