Indian, male, Tennessee resident, elite private school, intended major is undecided but something in the sciences. </p>

3.57 UW (I had a rough freshman year)

They'll be good since I do well with such unique essay topics. Plus my school is known for writing so I think itll be pretty good overall</p>

1- 10 Modern Euro/debate coach. She loved me and will write a really good one, probably talking about how much I matured in her class and throughout high school. 8-9/10
2- 9 and 11 Bio teacher. Also adored me. I participated a lot in that class and contributed a ton so I think they'll write a good one for me. 8-9/10
Guidance Counseler- its a small school so everyone knows the guy but we are pretty good friends and will just talk for fun 7-8/10</p>

My parents are both from India and I'm a first generation college student here. They're both doctors and make 200,000+ a year. I think the worst thing about my application is my grades which are a big part.</p>

<p>I’d say you have a decent shot. However, you can’t really class yourself as a first generation college student seeing as your parents both would have gone to university to become doctors. </p>

<p>Don’t worry too much about your grades. As the guy who did my interview said, they’re not not going to let you in because of one tiny blip on your application. If they like what they see in the rest of your application, they’re not going to reject you because of your GPA. Just ace senior year and it should improve! </p>

<p>I won’t comment on your chances, but caution you about throwing around the 'first generation" tag. Your parents are both doctors. Apparently their education was not in the US. That doesn’t diminish their degrees and will not make you “first generation” in the eyes of admissions officers. Be honest and disclose their education and titles in your applications.</p>
