EA Chapman Dodge, class of 2017

Just an update…my DS status changed to decision reached on Saturday, but nothing since that time. We live close to Chapman so the mail shouldn’t take long. That being said, my friend who has a freshman at Chapman this year said it took two weeks from status change to mail delivery…

This is so unbelievably stressful! My file wasn’t complete until 11/10 due to an illegible film recommendation, so I’m still stuck under ‘decision pending.’ The 20th cannot get here quick enough!

Hang in there, peeps!
Last year, DS’s status didn’t change to “Mailed” until 1-8 and his acceptance packet did not arrive until 1-14-12 (and we are in South OC). The wait was torture. But it’s relatively early, yet, for all of you. Fingers crossed for everyone. All the best!

My daughter told me that someone on the Prospective Student Facebook page told her that they had been ‘Deferred to Regular Decision’. He is applying to Business. He said that he saw it on the Chapman Web Advisor.

Not sure if the other EA application majors (outside of Dodge College) are already announced and they put them up on the website. It’s probably just a misunderstanding and/or rumor.

Don’t know how long they’ll leave the link up, so I’ll stick it here, but in the holiday spirit, here is a goofy music video D sent yesterday. It’s made by Chapman students. A couple of nice shots of campus! Perhaps some of you moms of current student will even spot your little g-birds and longranges? Enjoy!

Oh, and by “you” I’m sure those singing students mean us. They’re dying to come home for break, I just know it!

Cute thing for finals week! It’s not just the prospective students stressing out right now, the current students are too! (Did your students tell you Champan brought a slew of puppies to campus so the kids could pet them as stress relief?) May their stockings be full of wonderful grades and happy acceptance letters!

I can’t believe they brought puppies to campus to help ease finals stress! Thanks for sharing that tidbit … I think I just fell in love with Chapman. (Is it bad form to follow your kid to college?)

Thanks for the link, S-fan. :)

Do you think my daughters admission status changed between 8:30pm last night and 7:30am this morning??? Of course I checked just in case :)

Coral, I think you need a puppy. ;)

Shakespearemom: Well now I’m expecting my S to bring home a puppy along with the dirty laundry!

To all of you waiting – I remember my S’s status changing to “decision mailed” last year. I think it was about two weeks before his acceptance packet finally showed up in the mailbox (we are in northern CA). Meanwhile, all these So Cal people were posting their good news. It was TORTURE!!!

S just texted me – Undie Run is here! S-fan and Gladbird – look for your kids on the youtubes that surely will be posted immediately after the run ends :P

Oh, gee that’s right – it’s Wednesday! Bet they’re out there now! D said the U posted various hilariously worded rules and disclaimers, such as no unclothed students allowed in the library, and she was going to fwd them to me. Have yet to see it, though.

Beaverdalemom: After I applied to Chapman, I got an email that had the invite for the Prospective Student group. It’s actually a facebook “app” instead of a page, so I think it’s completely private and invite-only. It has a whole prospective student “yearbook” that shows you everyone’s major and interests-- it’s pretty nice! Maybe check old emails from Chapman to see if you still have the link to the group?

Just checked WebAdvisor and it changed to decision reached!! And now the wait for snail mail begins! Hopefully it’ll get to me (in CO) before I go out of town!

question for everyone

When it says “decision reached” on webadvisor
does that mean a letter is already sent out?

vinny420, unfortunately not. They won’t begin mailing decisions until Dec. 20, and I have heard numerous people say it took one to two weeks–or longer!–to receive theirs. From what I understand, they do not all go out Dec. 20.

skippy, thanks for the tip on the Chapman FB app! I will ask my son if he’s logged in yet.

Hang in there, everybody!

Ugggh!!! we are still staring at ‘Decision Pending’. When will it ever change?

Booo! That really is a long time from now… I liked the idea of having it come in the mail and being special, but now I’m starting to wish they’d just tell us online to avoid all of this suspense!

What does it mean when it says “fall term grades requested”? My daughters status changed from Pending to this.
