EA Chapman Dodge, class of 2017

Chapman is highly competitive for admission, don’t take the rejection personally. The path to a career in film is not dependent on a specific university, but instead depends on the knowledge you gain, your contacts and your enthusiasm. Good luck.

Status finally changed to decision reached and my admissions counselor said they are waiting on Dodge College to finalize a few things before sending out the next batch of decisions! Last school to hear from before i make my decision - I can’t wait!

Film makers village has been scratched, unfortunately. I don’t remember the exact details, but because of the location was a previous industrial site (It’s next to the railroad tracks) that area has been deemed unsuitable for living space. Not sure what the school plans to do with it, but if my understanding is correct they can still use the place for classrooms, just not dorms. Last week while visiting Chapman, we noticed that the “film village” has been removed from the college diorama in the student center. The space is just blank. Next year, the school has to designated one floor of the Sahdhu dorm for upper classmen a “film hall” for Dodge students. My D has applied to live there.

As I recall, the cancellation of the filmmaker’s village had to deal with the soil toxicology report. (I want to say… high cadmium content? Can’t be certain though, I only heard rumors). Chapman does still own the space, so who knows what will happen. Maybe they reclaim the area.

Bummer about the filmmaker’s village! I hadn’t heard that. Must be a good reason.

Daughter got the “wait listed” letter from Chapman/Dodge this weekend. Is this odd? Very confused because LMU accepted and awarded Merit Scholarship as did UC Riverside with a Chancellors Scholarship.

Hi Mamarazzisd,

To put into context the wait listed" letter:

What major did you D apply for at Dodge? What are her weighted and unweighted GPAs? What are her top SAT and/or ACT scores? What were her EC’s/awards that are connected to the major she applied to?

Thank you for a reply.

Also waitlisted

Are these decisions from the Film Production major Early Action? Or are these decisions that you are getting from the Regular Decision group for other Dodge College majors?

My daughter’s friend just received a denied letter yesterday for Film Production.
