EA Class of 2022

@CMUapplicantECE not to doubt you, but how do you know that’s what it means?

@CMUapplicantECE So what does Y and N mean there. Does Y mean you are accepted ?

I made an account just to reply to these recent messages.

Very interesting. It’s pretty straightforward, according to @CMUapplicantECE a Y is deferred and N is not.

I also have a Y, and would be very impressed (although dissappointed) if I really got deferred

Also: I searched for “defer”, not “deferred”. Couldn’t find anything by searching “deferred”

Edit: I didn’t read the part about searching “gotoappstatus”. My b

I have a “Y” with a 3.63 UW 1540 SAT

Pretty disappointing tbh. Does anyone have an “N”?

I got a Y as well.

I have a feeling that if everyone here has a Y that it doesn’t actually have any significance.

where/how did you actually see this info?

Ok so I have a friend who applied RD and he has the same thing, which is impossible. It’s probably placeholder code, so that doesn’t affect our real decision.

Although I did get scared, because NEU is one of my favorite schools.

Wish I read #388 before checking and reacting to that Y

This thread has turned into a ball of anxiety

Of all the different schools that I follow, this group is the worst when it comes to speculation and anxiety. Northeastern is kinda in the middle of my group in terms of selectivity, so not sure what it is???

Can’t spell “neurotic” without “neu” I guess

Probably because of all the different admissions decisions that are possible and the change of date this year for EA. If we had any idea what date it would be coming out based on previous years I doubt we would all be as nervous as we are!

Schools a reach for me but I also have a Y

@EDHDAD Nope. Check out the BU ED thread. 40 pages of speculation and anxiety before decisions came out.

@TomSrOfBoston That’s funny! I could definitely see that happening there. We did not apply at BU because it did not seem like they were as generous with merit aid when we did the research and the net price calculator. Is that accurate in your experience?

I applied to BU ED and I got rejected, but Northeastern was a close top choice! Also, I tried the function thing and I got a Y as well.

@20182022 When we visited, they indicated that they would love to have someone from North Dakota, as they didn’t have anyone from that state. So they do look at geography.
