nothing in FL, but not getting hopes up
I got in with 12k per year scholarship, but nothing about Honors program. Accepted as International Relations and Cultural Anthropology major in College of Social Sciences and Humanities.
1550 SAT, ~3.9 GPA, decent ECs, redid Common App essay after applying but it was still okay, pretty good recommendations, white male from PA, no hooks
@unphys Congrats!! Is that 40,000 per year? I didn’t know NU had such a great merit scholarship! You must be so happy
If you get deferred but accepted later RD does that mean you are out of luck for merit $? We haven’t visited the school because of the distance and the fact that without a big merit scholarship it is out of our budget. Now afraid that will earn us a deferral.
@summerhazed I also applied for IR. Crossing my fingers
Deferred. 32 ACT, 3.7 UW GPA, very good EC’s and a good essay. I was accepted in Tulane’s honors program with a generous scholarship so I am pretty annoyed. My senior year grades are lacking as well so I am not too hopeful lol
Is anyone else having trouble setting up their accepted students portal?
@croaswife I don’t believe they track interest, like traveling to campus, heavily at all. I’m also going to need merit if I want to go so I’m in the same boat. Didn’t visit though, too far.
@croaswife EA deferred students get merit aid in the RD round per prior year’s threads.
@bken2018 you should’ve recieved an email from them after you submitted the app that gives you the ID for it. There’s a link there too
There might be less deferrals in the west states vs the northeast states because of how many people apply from the NE… people in the west stay positive!! it’s all gonna be ok
what does the acceptance letter say? like copy paste it
How any groups do they break the waves up into? When can the intermountain west expect to hear?
@20182022 how do u know they send in waves? If so… maybe Mid-Atlantic is next?
@DoingOurBest @siw0300 Thank you!! And yes, $40,500/yr. I’m surprised too! Most of it came from the scholarship, some from university grants.
could CA possibly hear back at 6:00 EST?
I know the best I can get is a deferral, but I just want to get it over with
@jm18271 r u from the northeast too?
@lavender187 Possibly but I heard that last year it was 7 EST. Could be wrong tho
Because that’s how they release decisions. Thus there being an hour between each group… but I can’t imagine they’ll break it up into so many groups. It seems crazy that the West would have to wait another 2 to 3 hours.
