EA decision call signup list

That's so frightening! So most likely I'll have the letter in my hand by next Tuesday?

not even a clue.

"Letter or Large Envelope."

Ooooooohhhh.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm scared!

Question for Gamma: The exact wording of the adofficer to your gc matters. Because he could have been implying that YOU could find out via phone because of the scholarship problem, not everyone. And I don't think they can have 4000 of us calling with "scholarship" issues. Plus, it seems a bit odd to me that Stanford would allow everyone to find out by phone. It would tie up their lines and everyone's going to get their letter by next week anyway. I'm guessing M/T for me. I live in NC. What do you think? (I also have lowered myself to lying to the debate team that I have something going on next week after school. Really, I'm just going home to check my mail.)

I was primarily posting to indicate that once they are mailed, there exists the possibility of finding out. Remember, the vast majority people applying won’t call in and it seems exclusively just the members of this forum who are inquiring, so it seems entirely possible that they will release the status to a polite applicant. My interpretation was that they are strictly not permitted to give out information until the letters are mailed, so this is perhaps simply the first hurdle in finding out over the phone. Again, I must stress I know very little and any attempts at clarification with my guidance councilor results in only further confusion (as with most of the administration).

Gamma's right on. Because I remember sooooo clearly the stress of the wait, I want to help "calm the waters" of all this guessing.

I know for a fact that you can call once the letters are mailed - most likely on Friday.

Trust me....

What happened last year:

All week, people were told to call on the 15th.

Somebody called on the 10th, and all of the sudden the official word changed to "If you call after 8:30 AM on the 11th, we'll tell you" and it turned out to be true.

If the pattern holds, somebody calling today might be told that we can call tomorrow?

I don't know... I'm too scared to call, even though they're open :P

So I guess we'll be the first to know, come Friday. Then the news'll get out.

... and my guess is that Insider1 is a student who works with the admission office, perhaps as an assistant of some kind. Thanks, buddy.

so can somebody call today? whoever was assigned?

i called, the girl was mean and told me nothing. infact she said that they would be mailed next week.

I just called. The guy told me that they would be mailing out decisions by the "end of the working week." Then, I asked if we could call. He said that there would only be a call date for Internationals or people away from home on the 16th "considerably after decisions arrive." So, he basically told me to wait for the mail. So many conflicting reports...

I called and the person said they'll be mailed out by Friday and we can call once the decisions are mailed out. So I assume that we can call on Friday.

e_l I think some people in the admissions office doesn't want to tell that you can get your decisions by phone tomorrow because they don't want a thousand people calling tomorrow. But if you call, you should be able to get ur decision.

ahh that is so scary.

Do you think it's better to call or wait for the mail? I think I'm going to wait. I can't deal with an unsympathetic officer telling me, "Um, you have been REJECTED."

...didn't you just answer your own question?

Can someone call and ask if they're doing UPS or USPS??? I forgot about that when I called.

I called today, and they are still sticking to their story that you should receive mail by the 15th, and if you don't get it by then you will be able to call after that date. The person I talked to also said that it would be mailed out using normal mail.

yeah, im not sure i can deal with the "You didnt get in click" call. haha

OKAY I have some news. I got the exact number of applicant rejected, reffered, and rejected.

applicants SCEA: 4,300
accepted: 20% around 900
defered: 1,164
rejected: 2236

okay he said letters are mailed REGULAR mail, tommorow. And he could check my status but COULDN"T TELL ME!!!!!! God dammit. I talked to a really nice guy though, and he said you can call next Thursday, but i'm pretty sure we can call TOMMOROW!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH
