EA decision arrived in the mail today, according to the letter the notification is "early". It did not contain merit scholarship info.

My dd received the letter in the mail today as well.

I got mine today as well. No mention of merit.

No letters yet in Arizona … Can you see acceptances on the website?

Anyone care to share stats and/or when your DC filed the application? No mail here in Illinois, but maybe her stats don’t warrant an early decision? Am really hoping we don’t have to wait until Feb!

D is in-state and applied in early October I believe. She looked at the online portal to see if merit info was there and it didn’t even say she’d been accepted.

The letter did say “early notification is based on your outstanding credentials”. She qualifies for Miami’s top scholarship.

got mine today…I filled out my application about a month before 12/1 deadline I think, so if its rolling in any way thats why…I’m in-state as well. @OHMomof2 how can you see what scholarships you qualify for?

In-state here, son got the same letter mentioned above. Website showed nothing when we first looked, but just updated a few minutes ago with mostly the same info as the letter. No scholarship info listed, nor info on Honors programs or the like. He applied back in October, 3.8+ GPA, 33 ACT. @soccerlover17, you can find the merit qualification levels here: <a href=“Scholarships | Costs and Financial Aid | Miami University”>Scholarships | Costs and Financial Aid | Miami University;

thanks a lot!

I got an email from Miami University telling me to check my online account, and I was accepted! Nothing in the mail yet.

Anybody have any info about honors in the letter or on line?

Just got my notification online today. How do I know if I was a direct admit into the business school?

Congrats to everyone. Just got the email. Below is the letter…

December 20, 2014
Dear

Congratulations! On behalf of President David C. Hodge and the Admission Committee, it is my great honor to offer you admission to Miami University’s Class of 2019. Though we have not yet reached our published admission notification date, I wanted to provide you with early notification of your acceptance based on your outstanding credentials.

The details of your acceptance are as follows:

Major:
Division: Farmer School of Business

As an applicant who indicated an interest in pursuing a business degree at Miami, it is also with great pleasure that I further inform you of your admission into the nationally-recognized Farmer School of Business.

I encourage you to take a careful look at your mailed acceptance packet for information about important next step items that must be completed in order to confirm your enrollment. In addition, I invite you to visit our website for accepted students, where you will find more information about becoming the newest member of the Miami family. We also invite you to become acquainted with your Miami family by joining the Class of 2019 Facebook group.

Congratulations again on your admission – I think you will be a wonderful addition to the Class of 2019, and I look forward to welcoming you to the Miami community soon.

Sincerely,

Susan K. Schaurer
Interim Director of Admission

So to follow up on the other questions.

Honors?

Merit?

Etc.

Oh by the way

ACT = 30
GPA - UW - 3.8

My son checked on line and was accepted today in Mechanical Engineering. He had a 33 on the ACT (34 Math, 35 Science). Also a National AP Scholar (including 5s on BC Calculus, Biology, Physics-Mechanics, Physics-E&M, and Computer Science), NM commended, Varsity Basketball, two-year hospital volunteer, paid work experience, 3.53/4.0 cumulative GPA from one of the toughest high schools in America, 3.88 junior year GPA.

Miami was the last school my son applied to. It was not really on our radar, but I looked at the merit aid, read a lot, and talked him into applying. He does not want to stay in Arizona. With his older brother, we visited Michigan, Rose-Hulman, Purdue, and Illinois. He likes the Midwest. He has been accepted to several small schools and several very large state schools. Miami may be that Goldilocks option: not too small, not too big, but just right, especially with its top ranking for undergraduate teaching. We need to visit.

The wiz-kid should definitely visit - damn…

Miami has a beautiful campus and the info session/tour visit was one of the better ones we’ve done. There isn’t much to Oxford and it’s pretty remote, but there is a little downtown area with some good restaurants. D’s HS sends a lot of kids to Miami so we’re pretty familiar with it from current students and alumni.

DD got accepted into the Honors Program. 3.5 UW GPA, 4.2 W GPA and 34 ACT-- Has taken rigorous course load with all honors and AP classes. Varsity sports team, job, and other ECs.

@football97, my son’s online admission letter indicates Farmer acceptance. Here’s what it says: “As an applicant who indicated an interest in pursuing a business degree at Miami, it is also with great pleasure that I further inform you of your admission into the nationally-recognized Farmer School of Business.” The letter that arrived in the mail today did not mention Farmer at all.

Got accepted today, 3.298 UW GPA and 31 ACT… I truly believe that my common app essay pulled me through. If your stats are lower, have hope!!!

Not so boring…
