@putterer Thank you! That’s what mine says as well. Just wanted to clarify that it stood for direct admission as I was unsure of how Miami does it.

@football97, I’m no expert, but I definitely read that sentence as saying you’re admitted to Farmer. Congratulations!

Daughter received an acceptance email today. We are in-state and she applied mid-Novemer.

Wahoo - D is in! Online portal notice, no letter yet.

My son received his mailed letter yesterday. Didnt include any direct admit information about Farmers BS, however his online account states he was accepted in the business school.

I received an email last night saying there had been a change to my account. I went online and was delighted to read that I was accepted. However, I was disappointed when one of my classmates told me she was accepted into honors while I was not…we have same GPA and class rank and similar extracurriculars, but I have one point higher on the ACT (35 compared to her 34) . I have not received my physical package, so I am hoping it will mention honors and that there was a mistake online. Anyone know why she would be accepted over me? Is it possible they do not want to take more than one student per high school into honors? Also, does anyone know if we are suppose to hear about Academics Scholars Program with our decision notification?

My son received notice over the weekend too – his basic stats are 3.91 uw, 4.56 w, ACT 34, SAT 2070 (superscore), 9th in his class of 350. I suspect that honor’s college also depends on your choice of majors (they probably cap on a major-by-major basis). In his case, he got in, to BioEngineering/Pre-Med.

I read on the Miami website that students wanting to be considered for the Honors program must select that option on the Common App. Apparently they take that particular inclusion or omission of the selection very seriously because they want to make sure they honor the wishes of those who do not want to be in honors, i.e. my D. If you checked the option and still did not get in, it might have been a major thing? Maybe they only take so many students applying for particular majors? Whatever the case, congrats on your acceptance!

I double checked and I did select to be considered for Honors. My classmate and I applied to different majors (she did chemistry, I did computer engineering) so perhaps that is why she was selected and I was not.
Again, anyone know when we are suppose to hear about the Academics Scholars Program? Does that come with the admissions decision, too?

D is out-of-state and applied right before deadline with 31 ACT, and 3.6 GPA from top ranked 3% of HS’s in US. Notified via email about status change - direct admit to Farmers. Huge number and length of time in volunteer work with EC’s, some honors and AP’s, job as well as varsity sports. Was surprised no mention of honors or merit.

Pretty sure merit decisions aren’t made yet. Honors, no idea. I am not sure if D said she wanted Honors or not.

Yeah - D check the honors box on Common App

Does anyone know if they have admitted student weekends to visit? Accepted with an invite to the honors program with a 4.2;1410/1600 but really wanna see the school and get a feel for the vibe there :)

I haven’t received an acceptance or a rejection yet, despite having applied EA. Has anyone else experienced this?

Merit scholarship came in the mail today.
