i got my mail on Tues with Provost's special Scholarship of $19,600 renewable for 4 yrs. now i just have to do financial aid....

Wow, Parkrpark..you are lucky...my son had higher stats than you and got in but with no money :.(

Congrats.

has anyone not heard anything yet online? i still haven't and im out of town so i dont know about the mail part, but i assume they do both online and mail. ive called them but that didnt help.

My son was accepted to Case and is delighted. However, there was no mention of any merit aid in the acceptance letter. Did that notification come separately or are we to assume he is accepted but without any merit aid.
Appreciate clarification from those who received scholarships. Thank you.

Sorry...I think you are out of luck...just like us. I think the scholarships are outlined in the admission letter and not separately.

RSquare, did your son fit this profile for a Special Provost's Scholarship?

CWRU also awarded Provost's Special Scholarships of $12,000 to 23 students from underrepresented minority groups who scored at least 1200 on the SAT or 28 on the ACT, and were in the top 15 percent of their high school class. There were 20 Provost's Special Scholarship recipients among last year's freshmen.

I got curious, so I pulled this from Case's website. There were not too many awarded last year.

Unfortunately, my son is not a URM...only in that he wants to study in the business school at Case...which many are not clamoring to do (at least from the outset).

Oh well.

^^hmmm that's what i got...or yet least the name is the same.
i'm not sure where you got that info... but this is what i found online

"Provost’s Special Scholarships of $19,600 per year are awarded to promising applicants ('07-'08) who will add to the diversity of the student population. Eligibility is based on academics, including high school performance (GPA, class rank), strength of high school curriculum, involvement in school and community activities, evidence of leadership, and standardized test results. Awardees may receive additional grant support based on financial need. These scholarships are renewable at the same level for all four undergraduate years, if the awardee maintains satisfactory academic performance."

Yes, i'm an Asian...
but my ACT score was lower than a 28. are these totally diff. scholarships?

pmyen: The scholarship award was made in the admissions letter that came in the mail.

is anybody still waiting to hear from them? i applied 11/1 for the EA deadline and i've gotten nothing in the mail and my online status hasn't been updated...

kitinari, the same thing happened to me, and i recently got my letter...deferred. i dunno if it's the same boat for you, but best of luck.

Mother of perl and rsquare,
