He met with the admissions rep when they came to our area and really evidenced interest. He did not apply for Honors College as he anticipates joining ROTC and wants to do 2 summers abroad.
He was awarded a $9,000 scholarship for out of state students- $36k for 4 years
My daughter was accepted and admitted to the honors college. She received a scholarship.
My daughter was accepted to honors college, but the scholarship was really low, based on the experience of my other daughter at VCU (she received full-tuition and fees scholarship). Does anyone know if there will be more merit money awarded in February? My daughter’s stats are unweighted GPA 3.89; ACT 34
Mrbhuis, my daughters stats are lower; she Did not get into the honors college and she got a scholarship. We were extremely surprised. There seems to be no rhyme or reason or maybe they are looking for and at other things besides grades and test scores? Maybe you could see what else she is offered elsewhere and contact them to see if you can get additional money.
Are all those getting scholarship in state or OOS ?. My (In state) son got into honors but no scholarship.

Son got into GMU Honors Business school. SAT 1450, State : VA, GPA 4.29. No scholarship, I guess merit scholarship is mostly for OOS based on last years threads.
@gary108, that was my understanding. A lot of them are awarded to help bring the OOS costs down to a more affordable rate.

So DS was accepted to American U (ED1) so that’s where he will be going. I had ordered him a medium George Mason hoodie that he won’t be wearing. Amazon credited me the money but didnt want me to send it back!
So I want to pay it forward: anyone have a medium kid/is a medium kid? If you PM me your address I will send it to you! I hate for it to go to waste!! And I promise I am not a scary stalker person- I work in a high school as a counselor so I don’t need to add another student to my caseload HA
