I don't suppose they will be mailed any earlier than stated?

Does anyone know when the decision should be sent about HOnor’s college and/or scholarships?

Last year, I got my decision letter the Saturday before they were supposed to start going out. My guess is they started sending them on Friday thinking it would take two days to get there… but our mail takes less than 24 hours.

Scholarship letters last year came out in February or March.

Honors College decisions come by February I think.

Our son received his Honor’s College notification on Christmas Eve last year. The first merit scholarship notifications – McNair Finalists for out-of-state and the equivalent Carolina Finalists for in-state – went out at the end of January last year. The other merit scholarships were announced later.

Is there any chance of the ED letter coming before Dec 15?

Does anyone know when regular decision letters are sent out?

Last year, our son’s acceptance letter was postmarked December 10. On Christmas Eve (per a previous post), he received his Honors College acceptance letter.

@MeadowBrookCourt…what perfect timing to get the acceptance into Honors on Christimas Eve!! Is your son happy at USC? This waiting part is so hard, first time thru the process for us.

I got my ED decision yesterday. 3 days before the date.

orshiorshi, You said you …“received your decision…”, hope it was a good one? Can you share where you are from and any stats so the rest on this post get a sense of which areas are receiving decisions, and also get an idea of what to expect? Thanks!

Hi “Hopetohelp,”

Our son returned home last night after final exams and was raving about the Honors College. He absolutely loves it. About 50% of the kids are out-of-state, so it has a nice geographic mix.

We visited for Parents Weekend (we are out-of-state), and came away very happy about our son’s situation. He has a wonderful group of friends. The Honors College students are extremely bright and motivated, so our son is very intellectually stimulated. Re. your comment about what perfect timing it was to get the acceptance into the Honors College on Christmas Eve…

Ironically, I had to beg our son to open the envelope! Back then, he was VERY skeptical, and only applied because I kept nagging him to – which, by the way, is very unlike me. However, I had become convinced that he should give the Honors College a look. For several months, I heard literally dozens of times, “Dad, I am NEVER going to the Honors College.” To which I would reply, “That’s fine. But, I just want you to go look at it.”

It wasn’t until our son finally visited in February that he changed his mind. He was blown away by what the Honors College has to offer, including the facilities. After a weekend there, he said, “This is where I’m going!” He turned down quite a few schools in favor of the Honors College, including Emory, Vanderbilt, and the Honors Program at UNC-Chapel Hill. P.M. me if you would like additional information.

My D is awaiting both ED and Honors decisions. We live in Raleigh, NC and no word yet. She asks me every night - Dad, did you check the mail?

No word here in Ohio yet either…the waiting is very, very difficult! Especially with other opportunities already available.

hope2help - It is nice to already have other opportunities. Nice part is that don’t have to give a formal response for some time yet. My D already has 2 other acceptances into good schools, but she has her heart set on Colombia (with a son at UNC not allowed to call them Carolina). As I tell my D. You are already in two good schools, USC would just be icing on the cake. Relax, if it was meant to be, it will happen.

Nothing in today’s mail from South Carolina…still waiting in NY!

From the USC website and admissions facebook page, it doesn’t look like anything will be mailed until Monday the 19th.

I talked to admissions and they confirmed that they will be mailed the week of December 19th.

Of course we will be out of town until the 29th…ugghh

Anyone know when regular desicion comes out

March 12.

10 char.
