^^^^dang ACT of 30 and didnt get in. Are you sure your ACT is 30?

maybe when you applied they felt that NC State was your safety, what did you list as potential schools, in the aplication, that is…

Statistics and Economics

lol Yep, a made a 30 in the June administration and a 30 on the September administration. I don’t think I sent both to NC State, but I the breakdowns were {32 E, 30 M, 29 R, 29 S + 27 Combined E/W} and {34 E, 31 M, 26 R, 28 S +31 Combined E/W}.

Maybe it’s a conspiracy. =/ I don’t remember listing any potential schools… where was that question? I mean, I went to the Pack Premiere reception in my area and NC State’s one of the very few schools to offer a stats major. I filled out all the optional stuff too, and I felt my EC’s were extremely impressive. Maybe my GPA was too low.

Now I don’t know what to do. I guess I need to apply to ECU or something.

I’m going to call them if my status hasn’t changed by Wednesday night… to make sure that they’re not missing my transcript or anything.

What are you going to ask them?

You need to send your ACT result to NC Stae.

I sent them an e-mail asking what “Pending (Waiting)” means and if the fact I didn’t send my college transcripts (my college classes are on my hs transcript) could have led me to be deferred.

lol First y’all want to know if I can read test results and now you’re telling me I need to send them to the schools I’m applying to. I might start taking this personally. =P What I meant was that I sent either my June or September scores (Both 30 composite) to NC State, but I don’t remember if I sent both.

Well, I submitted my application to ECU. If ECU rejects me, it’s either a conspiracy… or I just need to give up on the whole college idea. lol

haha were just amazed you didnt get in with a 30…but i just checked my status again and i received the letter saying they want me to send my grades in for the 1st semester. But aigiqinf let us know what they say cause im curious about the difference between deffered and “Pending (Waiting)”

I am probably over analysing this but the part where the web account states this:

FYI applications move through stages that can include any of the following:

Has changed.

Its now has:

Submitted (not yet reviewed by our staff for completeness)*
Incomplete (being held because something is missing)*
Review (being reviewed by another office on campus)
Pending (various - see linked letter for details)
Decision (Denied, Accepted, Accepted - Confirmed)

Its did have

In Progress (not yet submitted)
Submitted (not yet reviewed by our staff for completeness)*
Incomplete (being held because something is missing)*
Review (being reviewed by another office on campus)
Pending (waiting)
Deferred to Final Review
Pending (waiting) - see linked letter for details
Decision (Denied, Accepted, Accepted - Confirmed)

So the

Pending (waiting)
Deferred to Final Review

has disappeared

and the

Pending (waiting) - see linked letter for details

has changed to

Pending (various - see linked letter for details).

but my status is stil “Pending waiting”

This indicates to me that they are still messing around with my application…

Admissions office confirmed that I’ve been deferred to final review. =/ No comment on whether it could be from not sending my college transcripts.

Do the rest of you pending guys have a student ID number below the link to your letter? Isn’t that kind of weird?

I’m not amazed, just saddened. :(

yea its a defferal…i wonder what percent of students they accept in final review

From e-mail response:

So I didn’t do so hot in some online APs with NCVPS, but in 9th grade I made a 99% in Honors Pre-calc and a 94% in AP Art History… not to mention a 100% in Honors Earth/Environmental Science and a 99% in Honors English III sophomore year. I mean, I do have some low grades, but I have a learning disability and most of my grades are really high. <_< That, with my test scores and EC’s, should make it obvious that I’m capable of being successful at State and contributing to campus life.

Oh, and apparently I sent both ACT scores to NC State… and NC State superscores… so the composite they would have used would be a 31.

I got in! College of Engineering - Computer Engineering. Mine was out on the 11th, but just joined this site. SAT - 1380, WGPA - 4.5

Congrats =)

My daughter’s has read “Design Review” for about 3 weeks. They had sent her credentials to the College of Design for evaluation. Last year they accepted 26 freshmen to her major. They have an interview/admissions day at the COD in late Jan., invite only. Now the message is greatly shortened, and back to “Under Review.” I am thinking she was turned down for her major, and now under consideration for her second choice major. I know a couple of other bloggers got the invites to the late Jan. Day about a week ago in their email.

Martinphill you may want to look at the article on CC at [College Admissions - College Confidential](http://www.collegeconfidential.com/college_admissions/) that discusses how to approach deferrals, waitlists, etc. as far as contacting admissions and what to say.

I definitely do not have a perfect transcript, but I did take challenging courses. I also used the personal statement to explain mitigating circumstances.

I honestly think that if you express interest and do well your second semester of senior year, those who were deferred have a very good chance of getting in. Like someone else said, if you didn’t still have a chance, they would have denied you.

Good luck and go Wolfpack!

D accepted to college of management. Any ideas for that major, or for ncsu, if there are any recommendation on what type of computer to buy? Daughter is ready to rush out and buy one but I’m trying to tell her to hold off until her school tells her what to buy… Of course she plans to run right out for a Mac…?

kb, Google “NC State University Student Bookstore” (don’t click on PackBackers. That’s an independent bookstore near campus). There is a section on the bookstore webpage about computers. We bought a Lenovo computer through the bookstore when S1 was a freshman and it survived four years at State and a year beyond. S2 is a junior at a diff. state u. in NC and his Lenovo we bought freshman yr is still going strong. They’re pretty durable machines.
The Macs are really cool though according to S2.
