EA decisions?

<p>i was checking my application status and on one area of umass's website they say letters are sent mid-december, but on another area they say it's late december to mid-january. when do letters tend to be sent out from umass? and if i sent in my application about a week before the deadline does that mean i'll hear on the early side?</p>

<p>One place says they start sending EA decisions in mid-December, another says the decisions will be mailed by Jan 15.</p>

<p>These are not mutually exclusive.</p>

<p>Historically, UMass does not issue all the acceptances on the same day, they roll out over a period of weeks. It causes a lot of frustration.</p>

<p>^i realize that :slight_smile: i was just wondering if it really was one and not the other. that’s pretty unfortunate- do you know if they release them in any order, like who turned in the application first, or is it random?</p>

<p>No one has ever figured out an algorithm.</p>

<p>If you look at this thread from a couple years ago, you will see a bunch in the first week, then they trickled in until after mid-January.</p>

(i’m not too worried about getting in as umass is a safety, but i really wish notifications were coming already since an acceptance would make me feel so much better about the whole process)</p>

<p>In the below newsletter to counselors, they say they are starting December 15, and all will be mailed by the end of December.</p>
