^ They didn’t say anything about scholarships. D said it sounded like the caller was a student, there’s no way they are going to give that information out to other students.

well i’d be surprised if i didnt get in, so thats the stuff im more concerned about hah, thankss… i guess ill just wait for the mail to come, and hopefully with scholarship info

Did those who got the calls receive them on their home phone or cell phone? My D has both listed on her application, but listed her cell as the preferred contact number. Has anyone ever heard of them making phone calls before? We never pick up unidentified calls at home, so I hope we don’t miss it. Also, I saw on another thread that those who had received calls were from out of state. Has anyone from VA heard from JMU?

D’s call came on our home phone. I don’t know if she put her cell on the application or what was designated as preferred.

Home phone for us as well, which is how we missed it. She was in her room with her cell, DH saw the number and thought it was just a random call (we get them from other colleges ALL THE TIME).

I was accepted last night with a phone call! However, I didn’t pick up the phone either since I thought it was a random number, but they left a message and told me I was accepted through the message, whcich it seems like they didn’t do for other people, so I’m not sure.

Just called JMU Admissions because I was sleeping while my brother answered the phone so I wanted to ask if they could tell me what they would have told him. The lady just said the calls were all about how decisions would be online in the coming days. I wanted to call her out on her lie after I told her my friends had all gotten calls for acceptances and she said they were just about decisons coming soon. Still nervous that I didn’t get in!

My daughter is upset because she went to school today and several of her friends got a call from JMU last night and she did not. She is assuming she was deferred. My older daughter is a junior at JMU and this is DD#2 first choice, so this really stings!

Hopefully, she will have better luck in regular admission. Still no email from JMU.

My son just got the e-mail saying the decisions have been posted. He was accepted. He was also invited to the Choices Open House on President’s Day. From what I’ve read, the Choices Open House sounds very similar to the admissions open house that we attended last year. Does anyone know if they are in fact the same? Thanks.

thats my first rejection!!! woo!!

Kblitz, were you waitlisted, or was it a definite “no”?

Well, I got deferred. Congrats to everyone who got in :)

definite no. oh well :)

Deferred. :(

Accepted so excited because it is my first acceptance!

Congrats to those who were also accepted! To those that weren’t, keep your head up- there are a ton of great schools out there and you will find the right one for you.

Also, does anyone know anything about JMU merit scholarships?
