yeah, one of my friends got into Yale too - now she’s gonna brag/gloat about it for at least two months (albeit indirectly)…

eh.. my friend got deferred from yale through questbridge, and i think we’re about the only ones even applying to HYPSM schools in my school

On a side note: A UPS truck just stopped in front of my house - I got really anxious for a second…thinking that maybe, just MAYBE, my tube arrived before the online announcement.

But alas, they were delivering a package to my neighbor…

:(

MIT’s will be on time, only because they’re putting it online.

Stanford’s is late because they’re sending out e-mails. Poor, inefficient Stanford.

At least both transmit the decisions electronically, unlike Caltech…

Yeah…PeacenikPie, how’d you do w.r.t Caltech?

15 hours and 37 minutes …

hey “it’s a wonderful life” is on!! best movie ever.. i think i’ll watch it to pass time

I live in New York and the letters haven’t really reached this part of the Atlantic seaboard yet. They’ll probably be here tomorrow. I’ll get an admissions double-whammy. :D

PeacenikPie - I’m with you on the admissions double-whammy Boston w00t!

So when exactly are the decisions released? Is it noon EST?

how many nerds does it take to crash the MIT server XP

yep, so 9 AM Pacific Time - I’ll be refreshing from 8:15, at least..

Just an interesting tangent in relation to nerds:

Merriam-Webster declared w00t to be the word of the year!

A grand achievement for all of us. Though getting into MIT will be an even greater achievement. :)

omg, there are so many good people that got rejected from stanford this year…now im nervous

then again, it might be that stanford rejects most and only defers some while MIT defers most and rejects only a little

so are all of you also applying to caltech too?

just me
lol we’ll find out tomorrow…

hmm well stanford accepted 800, deferred like 3000, and rejected 800
mit will probably accept 400, defer 3000, and reject 400

i cant believe its actually here… 4 years of an immature american dream may come true in 12 hours.

Stanford results scared me, too.
I know 1 accept and 3 defers. The one accepted was recruited for football. My, how we are all so jealous of him!

Anyways.
I don’t really know what to hope for. I know my interview wasn’t that great, especially since my interviewer cared more about my stats than who I am. It was a very odd experience. Storytime!
I asked him if he had any regrets for something he didn’t do or take advantage of at MIT.
His answer: he wished he had a different calculus textbook.
It was the end of the interview, and I was a little disappointed because the vibe on the blogs is just so different than what he showed…

oh gosh, i won’t be able to click on the log-in button for like half an hour…

Uh…I just remembered, OpenOffice version of my essay was too large to fit on MIT’s system so I had to send everything to notepad. No matter what I did, the first line of the essay would not indent on the MIT application preview. Wont/didnt hurt me at all right?
