EA Decisions

Does anyone know when decisions came out last year? This year, are they sent by e-mail or are they on the website? Both? I believe decisions were not available online last year, according to the blog.

around dec 18 last year i believe?

they were sent my email and regular mail to be received on the same day.

Decisions were available by e-mail last year for EA. They'll probably be available by e-mail again this year. You'll also be able to access a site called 'thick-envelope', which means you got accepted. If you can't access it, then you weren't accepted, so you can find out via the website or via e-mail.

Decisions last year came out around December 20th or so.

So in a few weeks.. eek. Scary. I almost just don't want to know.

Decisions last year were mailed on the 15th and emailed on Monday the 18th, according to last year's blog. Chicago's Uncommon Application, 2007-2008: December 2006

(the following makes more sense if you have a calender in front of your for days of the week)

Because of the substantially increased volume, I think we can expect decisions around Christmas- as in, email decisions on the 24th, following last year's pattern. What I can also see happening is having decisions mailed around the 18/19th and then have emails send on the 21. Because seriously, that could potentially be the worse Christmas present ever, and no one needs bad news on Christmas Eve, Christian or otherwise.

Just my 3 and 1/2 cents.

I predict that decisions will come out the same time as last year.

Judging from last year's dates and the increase in applicants, I think ducktape's dates looks about right. I'm getting more and more nervous everyday...

If Chicago is your top choice and you are applying EA ... don't neglect your RD apps. My guess is that decisions will be a bit later than last year - and if you should happen to be deferred, you don't want to have to scramble to complete your other apps.

If you concentrate on life and school hard enough, you can probably put off being really nervous for another two weeks. Study, hang out with your friends, poetry, go to a movie with your parents (maybe that's too radical, sorry), go sledding (if applicable for your climes) with your younger siblings.

Libby said in the uncommon application blog that you can log in to your uncommon application account and check your EA decision.
