The scholarships are merit based and their is no application for them. It was a nice surprise in the letter.

I was accepted, with a Trustee's Scholarship of $27,500. Is there anything higher? Just wondering.

They do offer some full scholarships: Financial Aid - Academic Awards Program

I got the president's scholarship. Does anyone know about how many of each are awarded?

I also would like to know for sure whether these scholarships are renewable each of the 4 years.

Scholarships are renewable. Must keep gpa up.
Below is from Finaid website;

"The Scholarships are renewable through the fourth year of undergraduate study or until completion of the undergraduate degree, whichever occurs first. A student must attain a cumulative 3.0 grade point average, full-time undergraduate status and earn at least thirty additional credit hours during each subsequent year to retain the scholarship."

Could you link to that please? The FinAid website is absolutely atrocious, and I can't find it anywhere.
Thanks!

The quote that The Mom posted is from the page for upperclassmen scholarships. I still can't find anything that says whether or not the scholarships for incoming freshmen are renewable.

^^ I'm worried about that... I'd like to know for sure, I think I'll call Case up next week and find out.

We still have not heard and it is January 1 - has anyone else who applied early action not hears yet - is that a bad sign?

There was that thing about extending the EA deadline for the California wildfires; maybe that delayed some decisions?

ya i got the provost scholarship of 17,000, anyone else get something good?

congrats, venkizx!

To others applying EA - Case seems to roll its replies, so it may just take a little longer.

Congrats to all who have heard. My S is having a good experience there.

Yes, the Provost, President, and Trustee scholarships are renewable each year.
It takes a 3.0 GPA to maintain them, but they cut you some slack during freshman year.

(DEAN'S is new--don't know anything about it)

They hide this in the undergraduate handbook--see page A-83 of http://studentaffairs.case.edu/office/doc/handbook0607.pdf

FULL-TUITION, TRUSTEES,
PRESIDENTS AND PROVOSTS
SCHOLARSHIPS
To have a scholarship renewed for the following academic
year, a recipient is expected to satisfy two requirements:
a minimum number of hours earned after enrolling at
Case and a minimum cumulative scholarship grade point
average*. The cumulative scholarship gpa requirement
is 2.50 at the end of the first year and 3.00 at the end of
each succeeding year. Scholarship recipients will be
required to have earned at Case at least 24 semester
hours in the first year, 54 semester hours by the end of
the second year, and 84 semester hours by the end of the
third year. For students participating in the co-op program
or taking a leave of absence, an adjustment is made in
the number of hours expected.
*Scholarship Grade Point Average: All courses
completed for an evaluative grade at Case are
included in the computation of the "scholarship g.p.a."
The "scholarship g.p.a." matches the student's
cumulative g.p.a., unless the student has used the
Repeat Option. If a scholarship recipient has used the
Repeat Option for any courses, the original grades in
courses for which the final grade has been replaced
by RPT will be included in the computation of the
cumulative average for the purpose of determining
eligibility for scholarship continuation.

Thanks for that link; makes me feel a whole lot better about my scholarship!

I was wondering if any of you knew about an accepted seniors overnight type thing ? does case offer something like that? if any of you know anything that would be super helpful!! thanks so much!

Yeah, they talk about it in your acceptance letter. You can go to one of those sessions on various days and combine it with an overnight visit.

There will be several dates to choose from in the spring to see the campus and stay overnight in a dorm. Activities geared for accepted students and parents.

Went a couple of years ago w/S. It was informative and helped convince S that Case was the place for him.

Same here. Within a couple of hours, S changed his mind and picked Case over his previous choice. The overnight in the dorms sealed the deal.
